I don’t know how much I can believe this, and I won’t go thru the trouble of reading further or researching the writer’s backgrounds. For several months, Mac has had a better than even chance of trouncing Obambi, if anyone in the media would wake up long enough from their self-indulgent fantasies to look at reality. But if this story is true, he lost it. I guess we’ll know for sure on 8/29.

Frustrating, isn’t it? It could be multiple possibilities put out there to provide coverage for one or more real trial balloons, it could be a fake before Obama’s move, it could be floating left-leaning ideas to try to make the base relieved when he picks a moderate, it could be multiple possibilities and rumors tossed out to try to keep McCain in the news—or, and let’s hope not, it could be that he’s made up his mind and is trying to ease the idea onto the party.

How do we maintain the notion that a McCain Presidency isn’t just a little bit the lesser of two evils if McCain picks the same liberal for Vice President selected by Al Gore? If John McCain agrees with Al Gore on who should be Vice President, we cannot be sure he wouldn’t agree with Al Gore on who should be Supreme Court Justice, or Attorney General, or EPA director.

With McCain, it has been nightmare after nightmare. Then when he finally chooses, that person will look good by all comparisons — even if they are only marginal.

That little Lindsey Grahamnesty is such a trouble maker!

Think about it ..... the guy flys to California to see McCain's first big national showcase with his opponent.

so while your on stage, you seat your wife with someone who just happens along ???

I don't think so

That's a place for someone close to you at that moment in time

I'll bet the deal is done

the VP will be Grahmnisty

.

Romney, Jindal, Pawlenty, Palin acceptable
Graham, Ridge, Lieberman unacceptable.

My choice would be Ron Santorum, Nichols, Bolton, or Zell

I’ve seen it. It’s one of a couple such threads. I can also show you other threads where there’s distinct information that the McCain camp has been trolling delegates for the past couple weeks, wanting to see how a pro-choice candidate would fly. That makes it occurring while he’s in front of the camera at Saddlebrook stating he’d have a pro-life administration.

I don’t know what to believe. We’ll have to wait and see. But now, if his choice is not firmly pro-life, I believe a lot of conservatives and pro-lifers will jump the shark. Even a non-committal pick will be a bad one.

I think this Lieberman talk is a signal that McCain is considering a candidate that will not please the Republican base. If you are considering Ridge, tout Lieberman, so that when Ridge is announced conservatives will say: "Whew, we dodged that Lieberman bullet!" and momentarily forget that Ridge is Pro Choice. So too, if McCain is considering a Romney that will displease some of the base, at least he can say-- "You told me not to pick the Pro=Choice Ridge."

This looks like a set up by the campaign team.

No question.

Looks to me like McC's handlers are making a play to show they are still in the game---IF they know what's good for them (could be repercussions --snicker).

Lieberman and the pukes are negotiatung to nail down their agenda----Endless War, amnesty, and the transfer of US treasure.

In exchange, the pukes will allow McC to name a pro-lifer VP.

This looks like a set up by the campaign team. They (the same team) did this all the time with Schwarzenegger.

Couldn't agree with you more CalCowGirl.

“This looks like a set up by the campaign team.”

Could very well be true. Honestly, would it kill the guy to bite the bullet and just pick a conservative, instead of going through these Machiavellian manipulations to make the RINO du jour seem minimally palatable?

It's all about lowering expectations.

I expect the "Better than Obama" camp will not end the mantra in November.
We'll get to hear it for the next 4-8 years, no matter how nasty the deed.
