Most people don’t care because they’re conditioned to believe that someone else’s abortion won’t affect them, until you remind them that they’re paying for those abortions with their tax dollars.
Do you really think that's true? I don't. I just sat and made a mental list of the 25 people I'm closest to: family, friends, people I've worked with, neighbors, church people, old school friends. And none of them are as selfish and morally deformed as you describe. Quite the contrary: I found myself smiling and grateful to think of the good 'uns around me.
Now, you could say that the people around me are highly atypical and that therefore I cannot generalize my experience to the larger society. But here again I think you're wrong. I'm prepared to generalize on the basis of 56 years' experience that there are good people all over the place.
