what’s that?
The right to life folks have been proven to be more honest and accurate than Obama.
Imagine my surprise.
Do you really think that's true? I don't. I just sat and made a mental list of the 25 people I'm closest to: family, friends, people I've worked with, neighbors, church people, old school friends. And none of them are as selfish and morally deformed as you describe. Quite the contrary: I found myself smiling and grateful to think of the good 'uns around me.
Now, you could say that the people around me are highly atypical and that therefore I cannot generalize my experience to the larger society. But here again I think you're wrong. I'm prepared to generalize on the basis of 56 years' experience that there are good people all over the place.
Wow! There are a whole slew of lies Obama has told around this. He lies with less shame than Bill Clinton ... and I didn’t really think that was possible.
Most people know how to behave. They know from education and experience that if you act kind and charitable towards people you meet, you will get friends and services in return. It’s called reciprocal altruism and it continues only as long as it yields results.
I have known plenty of people who seem like “good people” but at occasional moments, when they are not watching themselves, they show their true colors. I used to believe that humanity was generally decent. Not anymore. I don’t even include myself as one of the decent ones.
I'm somewhat puzzled that you regard their normal and customary behavior as a fraud, and their "occasional moments" as their true selves. Wouldn't it make more sense to see their usual behavior as their true selves, and their occasional screw-ups as ... occasional screw ups? Just askin'---
"I used to believe that humanity was generally decent. Not anymore. I dont even include myself as one of the decent ones."
Well, you must have had some hard experiences. While acknowledging that "we're all sinners" --- that's a given -- I do not believe that we're all, as some say, "totally depraved."
I wish you well.
