McCain responded to cascading events... quickly and with clarity. Meanwhile, Obama’s initial comments were clipped, cloudy, vague in content and full of “uh’s” and “um’s”. Hearing the DBM label Obama’s statements as “more thoughtful” is nothing more than sloppy propaganda.

When we look back on 2008, this is the story, Clinton’s hubris and stumbling, Obama’s hyperpopularity effervescing and popping, and the moribund McCain reviving. In the end it will have been a landslide victory for common sense in America.
