I don’t consider myself a computer guru by any means, but after reading all the comments I have to wonder why I have never, ever been hit by some of these problems. Maybe I just don’t know my computer is infected, but I don’t think so. I really think the answer must be that I’ve never used MS Outlook or MS Internet Explorer.

Now when I want to use a different OS, instead of using a live CD, I create a virtual machine using VirtualBox (I can even run a linux live CD inside the virtual window). If something goes funny with my virtual MS windows installation, I just delete the folder and start over.
