It all depends whether the republicans, want to do something about oil prices are if they just want an issue. So far I think that they are just after an issue.

The MSM will see to it that Pelosi gets all the play and the House Republicans are relegated to the shadows. As an entity “Congress” is owned by the enviro lobby. It will be up to a president to someday invoke national security and just start drilling domestic oil, offshore, ANWR, shale, etc. Expecting Congress to do this is like expecting them to bring abortion to an up or down vote or passing an outright declaration of war. Congress is where bold ideas go to die.

The House Republicans are doing a pretty good job this month, but the Gang of Pu$$ies in the Senate are working to ensure a filibuster-proof Senate and veto-proof House for the Democrats, and Obama taking the oath. They must really pine for the days of President LBJ, 200 seat minorities, and our country going to hell in a handbasket because Republicans were too effeminate and cowardly to take a stand.

“It all depends whether the republicans, want to do something about oil prices are if they just want an issue. So far I think that they are just after an issue.”

It depends on if you understand what the issue is. The issue is the choice between doing EVERYTHING to streamline providing energy to our country’s economy and maintain our quality of life or not.

If you mean it as written then you think a compromise of some sort should be worked out. As that would fall under the doing everything statement.

McCain needs to get Tom Coburn or Jim Inhofe to take little Limpley Ghramnesty out behind the barn for a huge attitude adjustment ASAP.

I am a pretty good word smith and I don’t know how you got that from my post. Doing everything means we don’t curtail anything that inhibits energy production. The dem’s “compromise” is loaded with such.

Oops, meant to say “Doing everything means we don’t curtail anything that streamlines energy production”.

I’m afraid Graham is McCain’s surrogate and is doing exactly what McCain would do, once elected—that is, undermining the conservative cause yet again.

President Bush needs to announce clearly and loudly that he will Veto any Bill which contains an extension of the Drilling Moratorium.

Then let the Dems do what they will.

“streamlines energy production”, that is sure a large enough loop hole. Depends what your definition of is, is. Dirt bag gramnesty just does what he thinks will make him a jr., his brown ring around the neck is showing.

But why should you consider it a “loophole”. Doing everything to streamline energy production means allowing all industry to compete in the market to provide for our energy needs. Trust me, they will build a better mousetrap. Be it nuclear, fossil fuels, alternatives, whatever. I’d add that I am all for eliminating all governmental subsidies for any endeavor other than those that provide for infrastucture.

Trust me, with what I have been paying for fuel they have build a damn expensive mouse trap already and caught everyone in it.

Did Graham have his primary? If so, I must assume he won, and we are stuck with this butthead for another 6 years.

One thing this article neglected is that Pelosi will try to get oil released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The GOP should make it clear this oil is stockpiled for the threat of war, and Russian’s threatening nuclear bombing of Poland, is a sobering example of why we should not touch that reserve.
