Monumental work is being done. Keep up the pressure. This could actually save the party.

In her Saturday radio address Pelosi announced that Democrats would consider opening up parts of the outer continental shelf for drilling as a part of a broad new energy plan that will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

And which part would that be Ms. Pelosi? The part that doesn't have oil?

PATHETIC WASTE OF HUMAN SPACE.

I disagree. For once, the house repubs are showing some backbone. It should be encouraged.

In any compromise between food and poison, it is only death that can win. In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit. --Ayn Rand

No Compromise! Stand your ground! We are right.

I certainly hope this is true and that they’ve grown backbones here recently.

So your position is that the house GOP shouldn’t compromise?

Has Pelosi been reading the newspapers while on vacation?
Russia is back Ms. Pelosi.
Not a good time to fiddle with strategic reserves.

That sure is some great CONpromise offered up by the Rats; if you ok increased taxes on big oil AND release of oil reserves, then, we will CONsider limited offshore drilling(of course, it will take years of negotiations to reach an CONsensus and we can’t guarantee that those delightful econut groups won’t tie it up in the courts for the next 20 years).

Good. They need to make it clear:
NO TAXES FOR OIL!

Not too many issues come along where one party is so clearly out of step with the citizenry. It’s time for the repubs to stand on their hind legs and take charge and credit for the issue.

This is far from the first treacherous thing the Republican Senators in the Gang of Ten have done.

Time to run someone against them in the primaries when they come up for re-election, if they don’t back off their dirty deal pronto.

How about a little discipline from the Republican leadership in the Senate, for a change.

..........The Democratic initiative will also seek to release oil from the 700 million barrel Strategic Petroleum Reserve..........

Great Pelousy! Be sure to include this in your bill so that Bush can be assured to veto it. She’s on the wrong side of the issues yet again, as Russia will disrupt oil to eastern Europe, and is talking about equipping their fleet with nucs!

Idiot!
