Georgia should declare that every able bodied person from 18 to 65 is a member of the unorganized Militia and arm them with Government rifles. Once this incident is passed, shooting contests should be organized in every region of the Country, with Government medals being offered as prizes.

High quality hunting (sniper) rifles should also be offered as prizes.

Do as the Swiss do, and on weekends have these Militia members practice blowing up bridges, setting sniper hides and machine gun nests.

Pre-set fields of fire in likely avenues of approach so as to make any invader pay in blood for every single inch of Georgian territory.

Require as a matter of Georgian law that every home possess a military rifle and a thousand rounds of ammunition. Encourage the shooting sports among Georgian youth.

Make Georgia a nation of riflemen and riflewomen.

Pass a law that any Georgian politician who announces any type of surrender is a de facto Traitor with an automatic death sentence which can be carried out by any Georgian citizen who can find him or her.

Tell Georgians in advance that any announcement of surrender in any media is to be ignored and anyone propogating such is to be declared an automatic Traitor with the same sentence as above.

The Swiss have adopted this model of National defense and no one has dared invade them in over a hundred years. They can then say with confidence to the Russians: "Go ahead. Send a million men across our borders. We'll all shoot twice and then go home."
