I have come to the conclusion that Hillary will be nobama’s VP based on the fact that he’s handed the convention over to her. He must be getting something in return.
I sincerely hope not.
Obama would be gambling on his life, too. As Rush calls his plane, Fort Marcy Airlines!
It is our worst nightmare, also. I think momentum is going McCain’s way, but that could drive it back to the dems. The driveby’s would have a field day!
Speaking of the Clintons, the Dem convention and VP nominations:
First, did anyone else (or was it just me) hear that during that mid of night meeting at Feinstein’s house Obama offered the VP slot to Hillary and she turned it down flat? Not saying it’s true but this intriguing tidbit had been floating around this past week.
Second, I’m not at all sure the Clintons are the sole arbitrators on this convention. Of course that dynamic duo is deeply involved in anything that will increase their own power. BUT....by me, I think that the Dem powers-that-be are very, very concerned about Obama, as they should be. I’m convinced that allowing all that Clinton air time (Bill’s speech, Hill’s speech and even Chelsea!) is as much an agreement by the DNC as it is by Clinton maneuvering.
Either the DNC is so worried about Obama’s lackluster showing in the polls that they feel he NEEDS the drawing power of the Clintons, or else they’re keeping all options open, including a nomination of Hillary if need be.
Further, if there’s any truth to the rumor that Hill turned down the VP slot, I must assume that she thought she’d take away the presidential nomination from Obama, to hell with the VP.
