Cleveland High School theatre teacher and Student Council sponsor Laurie Anne Lewis was arrested Aug. 12 on charges of prostitution in downtown Houston.
According to a Houston Police Department spokesman, Lewis, 38, was arrested in an ongoing undercover operation.
Since Lewis arrest is part of a continuing investigation, the offense report regarding her arrest has not been made public. Charges were brought against Lewis by HPD officers early in the morning of Aug. 13.
Lewis posted a $500 cash bond later that day through local Houston bonding agency A Better Bail Bonds. She is scheduled to be arraigned in Harris County Criminal Court 2 on Aug. 20.
After learning of Lewis arrest, Cleveland ISD superintendent Kerry Cowart confirmed that Lewis had been arrested. Cowart went on to say that Lewis has been placed on paid administrative leave pending resolution of this matter, effective immediately.
Lewis had been teaching in CISD since August 2006. In addition to teaching theatre and sponsoring the Student Council, Lewis was also the sponsor for Cleveland High Schools One-Act Play competition.
“Lewis was also the sponsor for Cleveland High Schools One-Act Play competition.”
Does that mean she wasn’t into the S&M thing?
Probably had a few past due Pious payments.
Hmmmm...can we put her into a diversion program? She’s a makeover away from innocence.
