RUSSIAN soldiers have been caught on camera ROBBING a bank in war-torn Georgia. The band of gun-toting men were caught on CCTV forcing their way into the bank in Gori.
Once inside, the men are seen breaking into the teller offices and rifling through the desks.

Come on guys. Stop with the non-sense and take a step back. The soldiers caught on tape are South Ossetian paramilitaries and irregulars. South Ossetian irregulars are currently on the rampage in Gori. Even the Russian commanders are getting tired of them. There was a recent inteview with a Russian commander who stated that they have been disarming some of them.
Yup.
Oorah!
Quite well put.
Russia has always been very good at stealing our designs. So we should give them credit for that to.
How do you know that?
Julius and ethel Rosenberg and half the Roosevelt Administration stole the bomb.
Personally, I lay the responsibility for the majority of the Cold War on FDR's shoulders. He is one of the worst presidents this country has ever elected.
Stole or sold? I wasn’t alive during that period and I attended public schools, so I know nothing!
I thought the same thing! I mean I am just a middle aged woman but when I was watching the Russian tanks and soldiers it seemed more like a teenage prank in a movie. But one of the fox reporters said that the Russian people blame us and there were some anti-american sentiment in areas where she was in Moscow.
Sky News has better CCTV footage from outside. Those guys were not Russian regular troops. They even had the identifying arm bands on. The irregulars are a scruff bunch and use the arm bands to identify themselves. It saves themselves getting shot at by Russian troops that think that they might be Georgian irregulars.
All armies and armed forces have thieves in them. In time of war and conflict looting and theft are no stranger. It is easy to jump on the bandwagon and not consider that US and Coalition troops do exactly the same. A minority yes, but think of how much money and gold went astray in Iraq during 2003! Not every soldier, regardless of nationality, is squeaky clean.

Even with all the evidence in front of them, there is still going to be some degenerate part of humanity that will refuse to see what is self-evident. It is disappointing to see that even some members of Free Republic are among their number (although it seems most of them fall into the obsequious or coward category rather than than just being dense).
These appeasers don't seem to realize that they are the ones that usually end up starting wars because they encourage the aggressors.
The difference is that the Russians seem to promote and encourage the behavior rather than punishing it the way civilized countries do.
You seem to be on just about every Georgian thread giving blind support to the Russian side in every argument. Are you a Russian?
Yep, I would call that “deserted”, but am hoping that isn’t the case. I thought perhaps they had fled before the Commies got there.
Sun is blocked for me, something about No Nudity :), but how do we know these are Russians? Could be S. Ossetian militia. If they are Russians, they are probably from Chechnya, which as I understand it, is where the bulk of the Russian forces who went overland were from.
The Rosenbergs got them started. Although they weren't alone. Some spies have been military, but most have been civilians working for the US government or defense industries.
The Rosenbergs were executed, and became a cause celeb of the left, until the Verona intercepts, and confirmation from the Russians themselves under Yeltsin, showed that the Rosenbergs were guilt as hell, which is where they now reside.
The difference is that any US troops caught doing that would be up on charges, and be put away for a good long time. Russian troops and their "irregular" allies will not even be investigated, since such actions are encouraged.
What proof do you have of that other than a general assumption? All forces, even Russian, have a military disciplinary code.
