moderators here don't tell you why they change things. They just do it as far as i remember.

one time about 10 years ago Jim Rob gave me a warning and a reason. That never happened again.

I am not sure what made them change your link, but many sites here we have major legal issues that do not allowed us to post here by court ruling.

Last time I checked Turkey was not a part of EU (BTC pipeline flows through Baku, Tbilisi, Ceyhan, hence the name). In any case it is the issue that Europeans should deal with.

"It’s funny and scary at the same time, but several of my today’s posts got re-linked by the moderator to different sources than was posted originally."

That is a lie. The Russian link you provided is still up there. http://ru.youtube.com/watch?v=H8XI2Chc6uQ

The Russian who uploaded the video onto You Tube created his own title

"Fox News: 12 Year Old Girl Tells the Truth about Georgia"

apparently in an attempt to create the illusion that the Russian's made-up title was actually written by Fox News. The Russian You Tube user's made-up title which you copied and pasted was then placed inside parentheses.

Thanks for the link.

If the 2:05 time is accurate, then the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is wrong. Who issued the report stating 2:05?

If accurate, it is just another confirmation that the Georgians brutally attacked attack Tskhinvali BEFORE the Russians moved.

When Human Rights Watch entered Tskhinvali on August 13, the city was largely deserted. Human Rights Watch researchers saw numerous apartment buildings and houses damaged by shelling. Some of them had been hit by rockets most likely fired from Grad launchers, weapons that should not be used in areas populated by civilians, as they cannot be directed at only military targets and are therefore inherently indiscriminate. Also, Human Rights Watch saw several buildings that bore traces of heavy ammunition as if fired from tanks at close range. There was some evidence of firing being directed into basements, locations where civilians frequently choose as a place of shelter.

Since Georgian and Russian forces use identical Soviet-era weapons systems including main battle tanks, Grad multiple-launch rockets, BMP infantry fighting vehicles and tube artillery, Human Rights Watch cannot definitely attribute specific battle damage to a particular belligerent, but witness accounts and the timing of the damage would point to Georgian fire accounting for much of the damage described below. more (HRW also list infractions by the Russians that occurred AFTER the Georgian attack.)

In his speech the evening Saakashvili said... “I want to acknowledge that several hours ago, I, as supreme commander, issued a very painful order not to return fire in response to very intense shelling [of Georgian villages]”.

Saakashvili said that he had ordered the cease-fire in order to engage the South Ossetian secessionists in talks.

[OSCE talks were planned for the following day.]

Georgia claims South Ossetia broke the cease fire at 10:30. That's something we'll never know for sure. What we do know is that a few before, Georgia decided not to return fire even though they claimed they were under "very intense shelling". What we also know is that rather than deciding not to return fire (as they had done just a few hours before), or use suppressive fire, or use counterbattery fire in response to the alleged cease fire breach, Georgia initiated it's brutal assault.

The local hero, Joseph Stalin, would have been proud! Units from his home town of Gori played their special part!

So, comrade, do you agree with Georgia's brutal tactic of indiscriminate shelling of civilian areas?

I guess it's too much for you to read up that the claims of 2,000 dead are Russian propaganda - on-the-ground reports indicate a couple of dozen dead in South Ossetia.

And you and Human Rights Watch believe that the witnesses remaining in South Ossetia (i.e., NON-Georgians) are gonna tell the truth?

No kidding? Sorry, but I never claimed that number. Truth is the first casualty of war. Guess what? Both sides make things up!

Also please re-read what I posted regarding HRW. It is what the HRW people SAW. What they saw, not what someone told them!

You've created two straw men to knock down. Try responding to what I posted, not what I didn't!

I'll extend the question to you too.

So, comrade, do you agree with Georgia's brutal tactic of indiscriminate shelling of civilian areas?

And the Russian allegations are the ones being debunked the most. Which calls into question what hasn't been debunked yet.

It is what the HRW people SAW.

Try improving your reading comprehension

I'm rather curious how HRW can determine the timing of the damage.

I would imagine they relied most heavily on the first part - WITNESS accounts.

And considering that any ethnic Georgians are long gone from South Ossetia, just who would be left there to provide witness accounts?

Do you know when the web attacks started?

Here is the link to an article:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/08/14/russia_georgia_cyberwar_latest/

Denial of service attacks against Georgian web-sites started a day before Georgian and Russian military units began fighting over the disputed region of South Ossetia. SecureWorks researcher Don Jackson said that logs showed that portions of the attack were run from command and control servers located on the networks of Russian state-operated firms Rostelecom and Comstar.

Not true. This is the original link and it is from the worldwide YouTube web-site. I do not even have an access to its Russian version.

Nice work though. And since we’re at it, why change the heading for an article about the McCain’s lobbyist? Oh, did it also come from a “Russian website”?

Why did the link you post come from the Russian YouTube site and why does your profile there have anti-American propaganda all over it?

If you ain’t Muslims with oil or some other oppressed group in Africa/Asia... foggedaboudit as far as the USA or NATO protecting you

Not to be rude, but there are plenty of Ugandans, African Christians and others who suffered genocide while the world turned their head too.

From their King George's point of view they didn't invade.

From ours, they did, having formally declared independence citing the King George's denial of the colonists' rights already established under British law. Read the Declaration of Independence. All those issues cited are not just the colonists "ideas" of what should be, they were citing where King George continued, after great appeal, violating existing British Law in regard to the colonies.

You weren't rude. Just correct.

In truth, I probably should have left it just as Muslims with oil.

Although, if I understand correctly, the folks that were in
Dafur are Muslims that had plenty of oil under their feet.
It's just that the Arabic Muslims want it all for themselves.

Everyone seems to agree a fight started at about 10:30PM The Russians were at the Roki Tunnel at 2:00AM. Lets say you are right and the Georgian troops did fire on Tamarasheni.

How did the Russian troops get to Roki Tunnel in 3 ½ hours from the start of the first shot?

Look at the road on Google maps it is a long windy mountainous road and the closest of any civilization is a mining operation is that is 10 miles away the closest very small town is 17 miles away and I do not know where the military base they came from is.

That means within 3 1/2 hours they would have to get orders to move. Load up the truck and drive down that long mountainous road from I'm not sure were.

i find their response time amazing. How did they do it?

I suppose the same way we saw Great Britain as "invaders".

So the South Ossetians are fighting for freedom and liberty?
