Not doubt. I know he is under incredible pressure to be more politically correct. Hope he stays true to the cause.

I studied Russia and Putin in one of my college courses. I would definitely agree with you on Putin; he is a Tsar. But how do you disagree with Savage? He isnt supporting Putin. He just doesnt want the US involved.
My point of disagreement is with Savage's invocation of the Soviet Union. Kristol and his fellow travelers are itching for a new war with global ramifications, and they're employing the old anti-Communist language of the Cold War. We're not dealing with the Soviets.
I'm not supporting Putin either, and I think our involvement, just as it was in the Serbia/Kosovo affair, will be detrimental.
Savage certainly has the right attitude, which is a breath of fresh air after listening to the Fabians in so-called conservative talk radio bleat on about how we should support their current lamb without stain.

I will follow up with the generalization that most Germans/Austrians bought the nazi ideology and that many of the Soviet Union nationalities did not buy the marxist ideology.

He did it again. Hope he is not being required to use the term immigrant instead of illegal alien by station management.

Savage’s $35 life savings stolen. How much would that be worth today?

I wish half of the conservatives who eulogized the late, great Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn had really read him and paid attention to his warnings, uncomfortable as they may have been.

The dollar has gone up recently, so that would be...1,345 pesos. ;)

Unless the Posse Commentatus rides in soon, it looks like this thread is done. ‘80s nostalgia, perhaps? ;)

On the other hand, this sounds a lot like the old Soviet style tactics:
To downplay American involvement is perhaps naïve; to link hostilities to a foreign presidential election is questionable. Mr. Cheney has no love for the Russian Federation, and McCain is an unabashed supporter of Georgia--obversely, equal in his distrust and animus towards Russia.
It's hard to tell when we have such a Soviet-style media. ;)
