I should add that Obama sides with the Georgians as well, so I don’t know how this is entirely a dualistic affair.

I don't know about that. One president's war is another's peacekeeping action--the results are still the same. There seems to be little difference between Obama and McCain on the matter, other than McCain might be either crazy or stupid enough to engage Russia in a shooting war; Obama would commit American troops to defend Georgia in the name of peace.

Do you think the Russians give a damn either way?

You won’t see any for at least a week. I’ll transcribe exactly what he said and post it during tomorrow’s show.

Got it done early. Here's the full context of Savage's statement:

SAVAGE:

"The phone number here is 1-800-449-8255. I would like to suggest that
people throughout America who listen to this show on a regular basis
please put Michael Savage dot com into your browser and be sure to go
there everyday to see the stories that I talk about on this show and also
to follow the developments of this program because in the next two
weeks there are going to be shocking statements that I'm going to put up
on the website that may not appear on this radio show. You may not be
able to hear it on your local station because I may not say it
on your local station but things are going to happen in the next 7 to 14 days that will be somewhat cataclysmic."

7 to 14 days that will be somewhat cataclysmic?

My friend who listens to the program with me has said Michael Savage has hinted he would like to retire. I never heard it. Please not now. Not ever!

That was my first thought and then the final lines of T.S. Eliot's poem, "The Hollow Men" came to mind. I hope to G_d I'm wrong.

PINGING TSN --

Please read comment # 109 RE: SAVAGE'S comments during the first segment of yesterday's show. I transcribed the full context.
My first thought was that he'll be retiring from radio.
What do the rest of you think?

Well he already announced dropping his lawsuit against CAIR. Maybe he’ll go to satellite radio. Then he could really let loose, raw and un-PC

He’s definitely thinking about it. His thoughts and feelings will come out in some form or other, I think.

Warning to all who do not have industrial-strength gloatometers: Don't turn them on today!

The gloating from Levin and his followers is expected to reach unheard of heights. Do not turn them on today!

Can you imagine this news item from W.W.II?

Headline, 1943:

Blunt-talking general fails
U.S. Forces Fail to Take Island
Shock: "This time we rooted for the enemy," say many Americans

Also, from the second hour:

"Because 19 Muslim hijackers from Saudi Arabia struck the WTC and the Pentagon, we are now without many of our freedoms. And now we are seeing the censorship of the written word. The self-censorship of the spoken word. I personally don't think there's gonna be talk radio in a few years. I think it's gonna become an untenable medium. I don't think it's gonna be possible. I think that the landscape is changing so rapidly that what you're gonna have is the equivalent of NPR, with sappy meaningless commentary with Vivaldi music behind it, and that will pass for intelligence. And the politicians by the way will want that. Why do you think Nancy Pelosi and most Republicans want censorship of talk radio? What are they hiding? What exactly is it that they're afraid of on talk radio? They're hiding something. Why is it that Nancy Pelosi has sold less than, I don't know, 5 thousand, 6 thousand books, maybe less? She goes on one hack show after another, liberal chick talk shows, here in the Bay Area where she owns these people. Nobody buys her books, they sit unsold in the bookstore. A guy like me writes one best seller after another, with no publicity. How is that possible? Why? Because the truth sells and lies walk. How's that, does that work for you? Fluff and rubbish, nobody needs. They don't need another rubbish book in their house, they don't need it, thank you very much. They have enough of them. But if you give them something real they'll buy it."

Given his chronic troubles keeping advertisers, this might indicate a move to a pay service. Possibly satellite, or a pay-for-podcast format.

Long shot, maybe he is running for office and is not allowed to announce it on the air.
