How it’s made and a program on History Channel broke down all the substances and pellets used to make plastics, nylon (they let you see the scientist mix the substances and nylon threads form as she rolled it on a cylinder).

The problem is no one knows the uses.

The problem is that education doesn't educate anymore.

The various uses of crude oil were once part of any reasonable high school science curriculum. And any nearby refinery was worth a field trip.

Today's high school graduates can't read, can't write, can't spell, can't perform four-function math and have virtually no knowledge of the nation's history or geography.

Leads one to wonder just what are they teaching in schools nowadays...
