If Lizzie weren't such a vile enabler, it might be possible to fell sorry for her in this situation.

I really do feel sorry for Elizabeth in this situation. There’s really nothing she can do at this point. A divorce would be a useless endeavor and only serve to cause her more stress at a time where she doesn’t need it.

There is only one person to blame in this situation and that’s Edwards.

I can’t put any blame on Rielle because a whore is a whore. You know what she is and you know what to expect, but he is a married man, with a family, and a wife who is dying. I can’t imagine what kis poor kids are going through. Their mother is dying and now they have to put up with their father’s infidelity.

If I was a religious person, I’d be praying right now for Elizabeth and her kids.

I think ‘vile enabler’ is a bit too strong for Mrs. Edwards. If you strip all the politics away and get down to basic human relationships, I cannot think of anyone more vile and reprehensible thant John Edwards in this circumstance.

I’ll wager that Rielle Hunter wasn’t John Edward’s first fling. I imagine there’s quite a few women in his past.

Awww, I bet he put on just as good a show for Elizabeth as he did for juries in the courtroom.

And let's not forget that Hunter said the public doesn't know the truth about Elizabeth Edwards.

HMMMM...

. Battling cancer that her doctors call incurable, his wife, Elizabeth, issued a statement in support of her husband – but how is she really doing?

Some say that Cancer is a "Co-Dependents" disease. If so, Lizzie has all the right qualifications.

You’re being rather harsh. It’s quite possible that she actually believes/believed in her husband and subscribed to his views, and genuinely loved him. It is very easy to see how a woman might have fallen deeply in love with a convincing charmer like Edwards. Love can allow one to believe all sorts of things (speaking from personal experience here). I’m sure she’s suffering deeply. Liberals have feelings too, and facing death knowing that the man you had trusted cannot even wait until you die must be like getting a knife in the guts.

Elizabeth Edwards is tragic. John Edwards is sub-human scum.

vile enabler is a harsh assessment when there are kids involved—guess what some women do gut it out for the kids even though the dad is a worthless pos as far as being a husband he might be a passable dad, but you can bet her relationship with him is icy

So he told her in late 06, yet the NY Post has him yucking it up with the other woman in a NYC bar in August 07. These people are so intellectually disabled (new term for the ‘R’ word)
