Exactly, perhaps the worst things Putin has done are not even in print.
My guess is that every break away nation that was in the former Soviet Union is now infiltrated with so many spies no on has any idea who is whom anymore.

More like

Putin = 50 % Viking and 50 % Mongol

Apparently a deadly combination.

A Novogorod/Mongol.

” I can’t believe he’d be stupid enough to push the issue at this point, really. He’s gotten what he wanted “

Ike’s First Law — NEVER assume that your enemy is making the same calculations that you are....

We don’t *know*, at this point, exactly what it is that Putin ‘wanted’ from this exercise...

Georgia accuses Russia of destroying Gori, Poti port

Russian troops are ‘’destroying’’ the city of Gori and the port in the city of Poti, the Georgian interior ministry spokesman said.

‘’The Russian troops are destroying the city of Gori. There are sounds of explosions. They are mining the city,’’ spokesman Shota Utiashvili said.

‘’They are destroying everything in Poti port . . . they are destroying the newly built roads in western Georgia,’’ he added.

Pootie is a true force to be reckoned with,he's sorta like a spurned husband who lost all of his assets in a divorce and now wants them all back at any cost.

I’m beginning to think the Russians have only agreed on cease fires and appeared to be moving out to delay anyone from helping until they completed the mission of taking the country over. Once that has been done, it is a lot harder to move them out rather than prevent them from moving in.

The whole world has it’s thumb up it’s butt and the Russians are laughing the whole time. It seems the Russians are the only ones who understand what war is. We have gotten spoiled by fighting people like Saddam who put up practically no resistance other than the insurgents. Which in my opinion, we have let go on far too long by allowing them to pour over the border in Iraq. As much as I love President Bush, he seems to have issues with borders and the strategy of holding them.

More then just the money and material things. He apparently wants to also come back and beat his spouse a few more times.

The militia are also taking small children from the Georgians. Sounds like some Hitler moves to me.

Gori may be as far to the south as Russia can currently go re in so-called buffer zone. Is there a major highway between Gori and Armenia?

They have to go through Tibilis to get into Armenia proper. The other path is far east and around the Lower Caucasas range. If they moved east then Azerbaijan might feel threatened and they still have MIGS and the backing of the Turks. This is the stalemate. The Stand in Tibilisi stalls the advance of the Horde. So the Horde gets mad and rapes and plunders the land.

I read yesterday that Russia is relying heavily on Chechen troops in its attack on Georgia. They are noted for their brutality.

I should add that they probably wont move west to get around the lower Caucasus because that would put them too close to the Turkish border itself. I need to verify this though by looking at a detailed road map. Just guessing based on the general geography. They could try doing an old fashioned siege of Tibilisi, but the US is doing the airlift now. Other option is they could get help from that Russian base down south in Armenia. Or maybe Putin is saying to himself, where are my Iranian friends when I need them. Perhaps we should also look for the possibility that Iran might light things up soon.

Good input, thank you.

I've read an earlier report which has Russian forces leaving Gori. Later, Russian Forces are retaking Gori, journalists and civilians leaving Gori.

Something interesting caught the Russian attention. Has an ally of Russia worked out a deal with Armenia? Could Russia be thinking Saakashvili knows more about U.S. Humanitarian aide, and felt threatened?

Is there a major route between Gori and the Black and Caspian Seas?
