Since the 1970’s the hourly wage rate for general contruction labor in DC Metro has been reduced by anywhere from 40 to 60 percent. I know that because I used to work construction here as a part-timer in college.
Laborer crews that used to be a mix of races, ages, and ethnicities are now almost 100 percent Hispanic. You will rarely find a caucasian on a laborer crew, as was very common 20 and 30 years ago.
