Gang of Sellouts ( Ted Nugent )
humanevents.com ^ | 08/13/2008 | Ted Nugent

Joining five Democrats to make up the Gang of Ten, five Republican senators tossed Sen. John McCain under his Straight Talk Express Energy bus.

The five Republican senators (Graham, Thune, Chambliss, Corker, and Isakson) should be renamed the Gang of Sellouts.

The Gang of Ten is a bipartisan group of senators who recently offered an energy policy -- intentionally or stupidly otherwise -- that can only benefit Senator Obama, whose energy policy up until this point was to tell us to keep our tires just as liberals prefer Fedzilla: properly inflated.

Senator Thune,
I supported you in your first run against Tim Johnson and your 2nd successful run for Senate.
I receive frequent solicitations from you for any number of conservative efforts.
Senator you will not recieve another nickle from me until you renounce this ridiculous “gang of 10” proposal!
It is a fraud and a capitulation that will do nothing for America’s energy or economic survival.
We have the Democrats up against the wall and NOW is the time to press our advantage and get rid of this offshore drilling ban.
Please don’t try to explain global commodities trading and economic theory, as my 1980 Master’s paper was longer and more thoughtful than this “compromise” you propose.
You, Senator Graham, and the other 3 proponents had better get this straight or America’s conservative base will take your retreat at face value, and abandon hope this fall.
We will not only discontinue our financial support, WE WILL STAY HOME IN NOVEMBER!!!
Respectfully,

The Nuge takes no prisoners, does he? He and his pastor-columnist friend Doug Giles don't cut any slack to the politically correct phrase-parsing, word-mincing wimps.

The first rule of Republican economic politics must always be to never cut deals with the Tax Devil. The second economic maxim is that America can not tax and spend its way to prosperity. These two fundamental rules should be burned into the doors of all Republican senators and congressmen's offices. Even tattooed onto their foreheads.. . .

Drill now for energy freedom and independence. Meanwhile, send the Gang of Sellouts “Obama for President” bumper stickers and a broken tire gauge. They'll know where to put it.

John McCain is reaping the harvest of what he sowed over the past 8 years. He taught these RINOs that playing the capitulation game can payoff if you ever run for President.

With Thune, at least, he should do it with tough love. Thune's a good guy; can't fathom why he succumbed to the siren song in this case.

McCain was part of the Gang of 14 that threw judicial nominations under the bus. McCain has voted against drilling in ANWR and is still against it. His recent epiphany on drilling offshore [actually he tried to have it both ways by saying he would leave it up to the states] was just a political calculation. Now he needs to change his mind on amnesty.

Sounds like Graham, Thune, Chambliss, Corker, and Isakson are just being maverick Republicans. I’m sure McCain can appreciate that.

by eliminating $30 billion in tax breaks for oil companies, which of course ultimately comes out of American consumer's pockets. That’s right: raise taxes on the very companies that would invest in finding more real energy to help make America energy independent

So the oil industry is being subsidized to the tune of $30 billion plus. Taking from the taxpayers to help reduce the consumer cost is the definition of subsidizing. Am I right or am I right. Sorry Ted.

Sorry, but NONE of them are “good guys” to sell their country out like that. They all need to be tarred, feathered and ridden out on a rail, literally.

Go Nuge!!! I hope McCain picks up on this...that proposal sucks. Any repeal of the tax credits amounts to a windfall profit tax. Period.

Note to McCain: conduct an energy news conference from the darkened floor of the House of Representatives with these congressional patriots.

If this clown (McLame) was serious, he would hold a news conference in the House Chamber, invite the major media, and then hope San Fran Nan would bar coverage. But Nooooo, he's a wimp who would as soon offend and criticize fellow Republicans then chance hurting the feelings or exposing the opposition.

BTW, what happened to that little jaunt he was to take to an oil rig? The huricane is long past, so what's the deal Jorge?

I also wish someone would ask him (on the record) why is so afraid to travel to ANWAR to see for himself where most of us want to drill, then repeat his comparison to the Grand Canyon.

So he’s no Coburn or Kyl, but he’s got an 87% ACU voting record. Take him out to the woodshed, yes, all the while reminding yourself that SD used to be represented by Daschle.

Amen! McCain is reaping what he sowed. He back stabbed Republicans repeatedly after 2000 and now is getting a taste of his own poisonous medicine. Poetic justice, though at our expense.

Personally, I am for eliminating the federal income tax altogether and replacing it with a national sales tax.
HALF of Americans don’t pay any federal income taxes NOW! A national sales tax would be fairer where everyone shares in the cost of government.
