.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Louisville) is maintaining a double-digit lead over his rival in Kentucky's Senate race, Bruce Lunsford (D-Louisville), according to a new poll from SurveyUSA.
A poll of 636 "likely voters" conducted from August 9 to August 11 shows McConnell with a 52 to 40 percent lead over Lunsford - a lead largely in line with other recent polls.

Thank the Lord! Hopefully he stays ahead! I just got back from there, and folks do not like Lunsford.

Lunsford is proving to be a very poor candidate. Having Obama on the top of his ticket won't help him a bit in Kentucky.
Looks like Mitch is going to win this one pretty comfortably.

Bruce Lunsford was chosen mainly because of his wealth. Also, Democrats thought he would cut a non-ideological, non-partisan image because he endorsed Ernie Fletcher for Governor in 2003.
His words (”gave us a budget that could grow”) have really come back to haunt him.

If the GOP “brand” is as tarnished these days as the MSM claims, it would be counterintuitive that the Senate Republican leader should be doing so well in his re-election race. Perhaps this is not such a horrendous year for Republicans after all.

Mitch McConnell’s campaigns always feature memorable ads, and this year is no exception. It seems to be working again, too.

Hopefully everyone in Kentucky has learned a lesson. The recent election of waste of good air Steve Beshear should remind them which party fits Kentucky. Mitch McConnell has done more for Ky than anyone we have ever elected. Go Mitch Go.

McConnell has to be one of the top Senators. When he says something it is worth listening. Smart, honest, serious... Offhand I can’t think of a better Senator.
