BREAKING NEWS: More guilty pleas expected in Beef Plant saga (Ronnie Musgrove)
Daily Journal ^ | 8/12/2008 | Patsy R. Brumfield

OXFORD - Beef Plant defendants Nixon Cawood and Charles Morehead, executives with The Facility Group of Georgia, are set to change their plea to guilty on a one-count information Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

So says two filings late today in the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Mississippi.

Cawood's hearing is set for 10 a.m. before Chief Judge Michael P. Mills. Moreheads is set for 10 a.m. Thursday.

An information is a legal charge short of an indictment, which comes from a grand jury.

No other details were available, but it seems possible Cawood and Morehead will follow his TFG colleague Robert Moultrie, who also pleaded guilty to a one-count information Monday.

Moultrie admitted he and Cawood agreed to pay then-Gov. Ronnie Musgrove another $25,000 campaign contribution - on top of an earlier $20,000 - to ensure goodwill should they need his help later on relating to the Beef Plant.

The Facility Group was hired in 2003 by the state to consult on the plant's design and then on its construction.

The Yalobusha facility closed soon after it opened, putting hundreds of people out of work and leaving the state holding the bag on $55 million on loan guarantees.

The three executives - plus their companies - originally were indicted in March on 16 counts they conspired to bribe Musgrove and defraud the state to repay their campaign contributions.

Musgrove, now a U.S. Senate candidate, insists he did nothing wrong. He has not been indicted.

In Moultrie's plea deal, the government agreed to dismiss all those charges against him and the companies, in exchange for this new guilty plea and his cooperation in their continuing investigations.

From wikipedia:

“American politician who was the Democratic Lieutenant Governor from 1996 to 2000 and the Governor from 2000 to 2004 of the U.S. state of Mississippi. He is currently running against incumbent Senator Roger Wicker for one of Mississippi’s seats in the U.S. Senate.”

Looks like the article “forgot” the party affiliation again.

The implications that Muskrat took bribes as a Governor are significant. Yallpolitics.com had an article on this earlier when the first crook plead guilty. Muskrat is well known in the Nashville circles as the lawyer that sucked the toes of a woman to gain access to a trust fund. Ironic, the Daily Journal and Clarion Ledger haven't mentioned Muskox’ involvement in the trust fund debacle.

"....Moultrie admitted he and Cawood agreed to pay then - DEMOCRAT Gov. Ronnie Musgrove,..."

There was something missing in the original article. Go figure!

Was the Musgrove tale just the beginning?

Looks like it may have been.

Muskoil used his toe sucking prowess upon Robin Costa, the Chief manager of the multimillion dollar Maddox Trust, to gain control over the money in that fund and get it moved from Nashville to Olive Branch. It is ironic that Nashvillians know more about our former Governor than the Democrats in Mississippi.

I Googled the information and found your previous post and mine on Google posted already...damn...we're famous....

Wow! If Google found the link between Musgrove and Costa, maybe they will show the links between ole' imminent domain Travis Childers and Joey Langston Dickie Scruggs and Frankel Money Launderer Thurston Little.
