Published reports say the Texas Rangers are looking into at least 20 abuse cases and 50 bigamy cases involving the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and its Yearning for Zion Ranch. DPS Spokeswoman Tela Mange can’t confirm the exact number, but says "we have a number of cases that we are looking at and we are unable to be specific at this point."
She says there is a lot of evidence to go through. "We confiscated a number of items including paperwork and photographs from the ranch and we are continuing to use those in our investigation."
She isn’t sure there will be more indictments in the case. Already six followers have been indicted on charges ranging from sexual assault of a child to failing to report child abuse to bigamy.
The Yearning for Zion Ranch was raided by the state in April and more than 400 children were placed in state custody. The Texas Supreme Court ordered the children returned in late May.

Looking for porn and “child abuse photos”, are they? So much for the old Chuck Norris theme “The eyes of the Ranger are upon you”.
Given the pictures from legal proceedings that are on the internet of Jeffs inappropriately kissing a young girl, I think that is a rather counterprodutive line of debate on your part.
It does look like the authorities are gonna light a fire under the polygamous asses of the flds. They may decide other environs may be more hospitable than good old West Texas.

So, the original info I got saying the informant referred to 20 known ‘child-brides’ might have been correct, after all.

Texas can't know at this point what an ongoing investigation will cost the state. Maybe you might like to contact them and let them know. (sarc)
I hope Texas doesn't drop the ball on this as a couple other states apparently have. From all I've read, the FLDS is an evil cult which deprives its members of their God-given, and Constitutional, right to freedom.
What cost limit, if any, would you put on preventing older men from having sexual relations with teenage girls, many of those with whom they have no legal marriage?
That girls are inculcated from birth to value and obey the message their prophet receives, directly from god (with lower case g), is pure deception.
I admire all the FLDS women and men who saw the truth and got out.

I learned to multiply in 2nd or 3rd grade. Where did you hear/read it was costing Texas one million for each child? I don't remember reading that. If true, I'd guess it is a round-about figure.
