George Clooney has become one of Barack Obama's most high-profile backers, calling him several times a week to offer advice on body language, presentation and policy.
Hollywood star Clooney, 47, struck up a close relationship with Mr Obama and is now in regular contact by phone, text and email, according to reports.
Democratic sources claim the Oscar-winner has been sharing his views on policy, urging Mr Obama to take a more "balanced" stance on US relations with Israel.
But one Democratic insider claims their relationship could be "very risky" for Mr Obama's election chances.
"George is pro-Palestinian. And he is also urging Barack to withdraw unconditionally from Iraq if he wins," the source told the Mail on Sunday.

You know that’s funny because Clooney has the same problem as Obama.
George Clooney used to have his character on ER carry around a clipboard so that he could read his lines off it. (I also remember stories about him writing his lines on desks and tables, but I might be thinking of Tom Baker in that case.)
We are all saved now, A let’s pretend person giving advise to an empty suit.
How could any American with any brains and historical understanding of our foreign policy and free enterprise capitalism, vote for a novice who takes Clooney’s advice on anything except sets and production of a movie??? That any anti-American war movie has been success should now be quite obvious to these lefty Hollywood types. But, it is not so let Obama and Clooney push this driver for Ben Laden flick. Who knows? Even some young voters might actually realize that with BO there is no there, there.
“Discovering his views has certainly turned me off him.”
It’s been a pretty bitter experience for me too. I used to love the movies and now I barely go. There are so few actors these days that I can watch without feeling irritated or wiped out emotionally and psychologically from the feelings of resentment over their self righteous ranting.
