>>There are two or three main objectives for people who create automotive devices – increasing the mpg performance and reducing the harmful emissions are the top two priorities, while running the vehicle on water alone is the aim of a few people.

The first two objectives are readily achievable, but running a vehicle on water alone is not going to happen. This idea is peddled by con artists who sell worthless “plans” such as the...<<

Hey Einstein, take a couple hours and read this. Then you can build one yourself and prove that anyone with results is a liar.

The generated gas is not a fuel, it's an additive that modifies the burn.

TWohlford, you non-believing ninny, it's the EXCESS power from the alternator that drives the electrolysis. It's a free lunch, man! Another thread a couple weeks told me so. Second law be damned!

When I see the test results in Car and Driver or Road and Track, I’ll apologize.

I will try this one more time then I’m going lo bed! the way this system is supposed to work is that because gasoline only burns at 1000 fps it creates problems for ICE designers. Since especially at high RPM’s the fuel is still burning when the exhaust value opens there is power wasted. the same is true at the other end. the spark plug actually fires several degrees before top dead center in an attempt to make better use of more of the best part of the burn. the problem is that creates a backward kick which is wasted energy. With the addition of a small amount of Hydrogen which burns at 40,000 Fps the gasoline is ignited before the exhaust values open. the quick flash is not much more than the spark from the spark plug but it fills the entire area of the cylinder with a quick flash while the gasoline has just barely started burning, that small flash immediately ignites the rest of the gasoline in the cylinder which would normally have to wait for the gasoline ignition flame front. all this equals faster burn, and more complete burn.It won't do what a few people claim like increasing mileage by 50% but it will do 15% for most cars.

water injection has been around since the 1930’s as a way to boost octane.

...and dribbled through the carb, it pops carbon deposits off the pistons & combustion chamber walls, while steam-cleaning the valves.

Now there is a fellow that has a new engine that sprays water into the cylinder after combustion. The water hits the sides of the wall and turns to steam, cooling the engine (rather than letting the waste heat go out the radiator).

Intake, compression power, exhaust Water inject, power.

This is very stressful on the cylinder walls and piston top, and blowing steam out the exhaust pipe is not recommended, so a different, more complex valving mechanism would be needed.

But this would give more power per gallon of fuel, at the cost of water fill up. Since it would work (at the cost of some friction) without the water, there would be no severe reduction in range. I think a smaller engine with one power stroke out of 3 (2/6) would have as much power as a larger engine with 1 power stroke out of 4, so the “dry” combustion cycle could be used to cruise, with the “wet” cycle used for acceleration.

Somebody should post this over on The Daily KOS. Those idiots possess such a dearth of critical thought that this should keep them spinning in circles Ad infinitum. Might be the prototype for a real perpetual motion machine.

Too bad nobody's figured out a way to tap into the energy generated from liberals chasing stupid ideas...

the energy lost to heat while burning the gasoline, generating the electricity, electrolyzing the water, and burning the hydrogen/oxygen again make the entire process futile.

You just have to crack & burn MORE water!

You make up on volume, what you lose on the individual transaction, and end up with an energy ‘profit’, like the guys who make millions selling for less than cost.

I don't know if this stuff works, or not. I am acquainted, however, with one of the "hydrogen garage" guys.

The man does seem to be personally credible, as an individual. Speaking to him about it, I do recall he claims it's much simplier & easier to realize a gain using an older vehicle equipped with a carburator, and lacking sensors & on-board computers.

These "sensor spacers" look familiar;

for unless I miss my recognition/guess, they are (or at least were in the past) drilled out, *turned* on an old lathe that I'm familiar with.

“If you fill your tires full enough. Gravity will take over and your vehicle will roll down hill requiring no fuel at all.”

Bolt an exhaust manifold directly to an intake manifold, and put a 4 BBL on it with a hinged cover plate in place of the air cleaner.

Pop the cover open, and let her rip!

The venturi in the carb, coupled with the natural vacuum in the intake, plus the inherent pressure in the exhaust, minus all moving parts that Detroit sticks in the way, gives a pure jet thrust!

All those friction producing, power-robbing moving parts inside the block are just a Detroit conspiracy to sell you rings, valves, bearings, cams, pumps, gaskets, and other useless, wearable parts to replace,

AND keeps the oil companies happy, since you need the auxiliary fuel to make all of them move because they fit so tight they completely inhibit the natural suction/exhaust action of the above described simple jet drive.

I am Barck Obama's Chief Mechanic, and his entourage is full of idiots.

I don't know anything about that method but as stated in the links and the article it take water and splits it into hydroxy hydrogen and oxygen and you are helping the gas burn to it greatest possibility.

From what I understand there is a law that says you can only get the amount of power out of something that is already there and the brown HHo gas helps burn the gasoline and will increase the efficiency of the gas 30-50% to burn better.

Geez, how many more of these articles are we going to have to endure?

Ya gotta admit, they are more entertaining than the "Why isn't zerobama beating McCain" articles.

One way to settle this once & for all is to hook an engine up to a dyno, run it with and without said Hydrogen fixture, look at BTU/Bhp.Hr

Also look at the exhaust temp and heat rejected to the radiator.

I’ll bet you a very cold case of American Made Budwieser that there in no change in measured fuel economy, I’ll speculate that it actually declines.

” then we have truly been had by Detroit and God knows who else for a great many years.”

Oh right, evil “Detroit and God knows who else for a great many years.”

Did you know you can drink urine and eat poop? The evil farm companies, water companies, and municipal waste treatment plants been sticking it to you for years.

Don't let the “man” stick it to you any more. Really, try some. Better yet it is organic. Go for it.
