GEROGIA'S President Mikheil Saakashvili today vowed no surrender even as Russian troops pressed deeper into his country and he said the capital Tbilisi was being threatened.

Asked during a phone interview with CNN what he would like Russia's leaders to know, Mr Saakashvili responded: "I think they should hear Georgia will never surrender. Georgia will never surrender."

Don’t you know it’s ok for peace loving people like the Russians to do this?

Why it’s only for peace and safety don’t ya know.

“No matter how superhuman a military you have, if you have not been preparing the attack for months and months, for God’s sake, how can you mobilise into another country 1,000 tanks within hours if it’s not a premeditated attack on a neighbouring country?” he said”

He has a point.

Great point.

It really chaps my hide where the anti-war movement falls so obviously silent. The same could really be said of the environmental movement.

Almost all of the allegedly moral agendas of the left, such as peace are mere shams for ramming socialism forcefully down humanity’s throat.

Here is a brazen case of it. There is not international concert of Russian imperialism. There is no journalistic outrage at deaths associated by Russian unilateralism.

Barack Obama can trip all over himself in international idiocy while TV holds back the deserved criticism.

Saw the President of Georgia on the BBC a few hours ago.He says there's much evidence that the USSR planned this invasion for some time.He also said that the circumstances of this invasion are *very* similar to The USSR's 1921 invasion...which resulted in Georgia becoming a Soviet satellite for about 60 years.

He also noted, interestingly enough, that they found an unexploded 500 pound Soviet bomb which had written on it something like "this is for NATO".So,at the very least,it looks like Comrade Putin is making it clear to bordering countries that cozying up to the West is a big "NYET"!

I live in Sarasota, FL. Each day, I pass a Quaker church on my way to my local pub. They normally have a sign posted proclaiming:

“War Is Not The Answer.”

I wonder if they have ever said that to the countries that attack, e.g., Palestine, Russia, Iran, Al Qaeda garbage and so forth.

The Quakers only seem to tell the VICTIMS that war is not the answer. I think that means lay down your weapons and enjoy your death. Sort of like telling a young woman to just lay back and enjoy getting raped by a thug!

Fine, he should pick up a rifle, grab some supplies, and fight with the rest of his Army.

They are not working on the economic security of the country.

We have got to get the Ukraine in NATO. We have got to get the rest of the old soviet union that is now free under our wings to protect them.

we need to draw a line in the sand right now. We are not afraid of Russia.

The Russians have been planing this for a long time. It was well thought out. If you were going to do a land grab Georgia would be the first pick. Why? The oil. Which means money. Which means power.

The way that Russia’s pounding them, in a few weeks there won’t be much left of Georgia to surrender.

I know those are rhetorical questions, but... They - Cindy, Chicks, etc. - would approve of any slaughter provided that those doing it support totalitarian ideology as they do.

Heck Red Steel if they just had organization, and marksmanship and even Milan’s they would give the Russian 58th army fits.

The more I read and learn about this war, I’m truly grateful for our 2nd amendment, even if our Govt screws the pooch ala Georgia, we have at least some level of competence beyond the Military.

Problem is, like a fire extinguisher, when you need to use it, you have to know how to use it before hand...

Welllll... the Russians don’t take a cr@p without a plan. It sure isn’t any news. I’d have to say they’ve been planning for this contingency for some time. Just like we plan for the contingency should Canada attack. Tho, the Russians have been looking for someone to make an example of for a loooooong time. The Bear is back, it’s got a temper, and idiot Georgians came into its own cave and poked it with a sharp stick.

Thank you for playing.
