I had to laugh at CNN today. They kept saying McCain was taking advantage of the fact that Obama was on vacation to make a statement on Georgia, then they would proceed to air Obama’s statement from Hawaii.

“...And this makes it obvious TO EVERYONE.”

Sadly, no, it does not.

When you are talking about the Obama crowd you are talking about some of the most foolish people on the planet.

McCain said, “We should move ahead with the resolution despite Russian veto threats, and submit Russia to the court of world public opinion.”
Obama will just hide behind McCain on this.

McCain’s statement here:

I’m sure a GREAT video of this gaffe could make it obvious...

His groupies may not like it....but it will have to give them pause.

Mr. Obama declined to take questions afterward.

Dang. He could have sunk a little further.

Obama’s followers do not care who he is, where he’s been, what he does or what he says... They are set on electing him and nothing reported about him will change their minds and it wouldn’t matter if he’s a drug-addicted pedophile who has dead bodies in his closet.

“George has been giving him advice on things such as presentation, public speaking and body language and he also emails him constantly about policy, especially the Middle East.” - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2059253/posts

This is what happens when you have maroons like George Clooney giving you foreign policy advice.

Torpedo fuel, that was their favorite near the end of the cold war.

If Obama had known of what he spoke he could have phrased it thus:

“I urge the UN to vote on condemning Russia for its actions. Force Russia to veto this proposal in front of the world’s eyes.”

This won’t hurt Obama because the average American doesn’t understand such as vetos or permanent members. The ladies at the beauty parlor consider that the nice young man Barack was on the mark by suggesting that the UN condemn these actions by Russia. This is what the UN does after all, right?

At National Review Online they have a link saying that members, including Permanent Members are supposed to abstain if they are a party to the dispute. Don’t know if it has ever been enforced, or if it can be enforcee/.

President Obama: “I call upon the United Nations to denounce Russian agression against Georgia!”

UN: “No.”

President Obama: “Oh well, I tried.”

At this point I have spoken to President Saakashvili, and conveyed my deep regret over the loss of life, and the suffering of the people of Georgia.

What the hell is he doing calling their President? He needs to sit down and stfu.

Let the elected President of the U.S. make whatever phone calls need to be made, you idiot community organizer.

At least McCain, unlike Barry understands that Russia has veto power in the security council. He just wants to force the Ruuskees to use that veto in the face of world opinion.

These are the types of gaffes, typical of inexperience, that are beautiful debate setups for McCain. I’d push for the maximum # of debates in almost any forum. I’d make sure McCain is well rested and focused on having fun toying with BO. If McCain is on, it would come off like a cat playing with a mouse. Odds are BO will make comparable FU’s but it will be up to Johnny to cleverly capitalize without openly laughing.
