Shades of Czechoslovakia and Hungary. We had some Hungarian neighbors and I can remember them cheering and then being sorely disappointed when the Russians overwhelmed the uprising. Was only 6 years old, but I can remember their short lived elation.

I remember the Czech take over in just the same manner. I had relatives lving there on my Mom's Dad's side. It was a very disturbing, sad, and shameful time.

And it took us twenty years to undo i...and then only because the last eight of those years we had a Reagan who stood up four-square against the Soviets.

We need to do something to make sure this does not turn out the same way as Hungary oin '56 and the Czechs in '68.
