I don’t have a subscription to the WSJ’s Political Diary, but I hear that John Fund wrote an item in which the House Democrats are fuming that Nancy Pelosi left them out to hang. Fund reported that Democrats are fielding angry calls on radio talk shows and questions at town hall meetings.
Woo hoo!

Congressman Mike Pence was on Rush’s show today (Jason Lewis is subbing), and asks us to call our DEMOCRAT senators and congresspersons and tell them to go back to Washington, D. C. (from their 5-week paid vacations), and we want drilling.

I heard somewhere that Piglosi was opening the house for 5 minutes per day while everyone was gone just so GW could not order a special session. Any truth to that one?

That does not sound right. I hear that the Speaker is still on tour and that there are about 100 guests that come in daily to hear the House Republicans speak. That sounds more like the Senate, to avoid recess appointments.
I love that the House Dems are getting angry calls and questions from the voters.
LOL

:) I am but a small spectator, rodguy! The amazing thing is how many regular voters are after the members of Congress. I am hoping that the Gang of 10 is getting an earful too.

How is the President going to “force” the MSM to cover the House? This is the Congressman’s “workplace” and it’s up to them to protest the shutting down by Nancy—turning off the lights, etc. This way the American people are able to see and hear the protest—first-hand. I’m talking about the tourists who are flocking to the House to see and hear it for themselves. Grass Roots support!
These vacationing Congressman are more apt to get an earful from their constituents, who are paying for their 5 weeks off, who can’t afford a vacation while struggling to pay inflated gas prices. Hope they are being hammered!
I have called my Congressman’s 2 local offices and his D.C. office to vent my anger. How dare he go off on vacation and ignore the people’s business. Have you?

It’s the Senate. By opening the Session each day, even if only for 5 minutes, it prevents President Bush from making any Recess appointments.
The Dems are all about games—like other children—and not doing what they were elected to do. Does anyone have the figure for the number of Investigative hearings of the Bush Administration going on?
You can Thank a Democrat everytime you have to put gas in your car. They’re saving the environment, you know.
Besides, Nancy probably needs this 5 weeks to recuperate from more plastic surgery.

I'm really not too worried about them. I don't think their phony bill would go anywhere in the House even if it did go somewhere in the Senate. Which is doubtful at as well. McCain reportedly is not going for it and I doubt that GW would endorse it either.

I don't expect any of these bozos ever calling Rush's how again after the spanking he gave sexy Saxby. It was a good lesson to rinos everywhere. Don't mess with conservatives unless you want your ass kicked.

But the point is that it gave Mary Landrieu a “get out of jail free” card when she should have been held accountable.
And the other point is that it is a lever to turn the tide against the Democrats in either chamber.

Chambliss, yeah I get it, he’s soft on immigration too.
A real ‘old europe’ kinda republican.
But Johnny Isakson???? That’s a shocker.
