Perhaps a strong worded letter from the UN too ?
Someone save us from the U.S. State Department.
When was the last time a significant military combat boat was sunk in battle? I know ships have taken some shots, including ours at Yemen, but sunk?
I think the Iranians got a smokey frigate a while back courtesy of the USN. This is a Russian big force force to put against two little patrol craft to neutralize the Georgians for the thug backed S. Ossetians “protection”. And now enter stage left the Cossacks. .They are moving for the oil,not South Ossetia. Putin wants the oil, the Russians want a crushing victory to prove that “they am somebody”.Ukraine is on notice.
“I dont think Georgia has a bunch to spare.”
The Georgian Navy had only two of the former French missile boats.
Well, only one now.
Protest here and you attract newscritters to publicize crap. Protest in russia and get a ticket to Siberia, one way.

Well, I am not one to try and assume the karma in a missle boat is going to really affect things BUT... Soviet.
I think that what we have seen so far clearly indicates Putin understands perfectly what he can and can not get away with. However, if he starts to head south or southwest it will be a whole new ballgame.
The nasty letter is currently steaming to the Persian Gulf. That is not the direction Putin and the boys want everyone to look, but that is where the "action" is going to be. Or rather, when the somewhat giant armada gets there, "inaction."
When they show, Putin will cool his act.
As long as the bureaucrats’ check is in the mail, and everyone is fine in DC, nothing will happen; if it weren’t for the fact that the Pentagon (in DC) got hit on 911, I don't think anything would have happened.
This government is dysfunctional and ineffectual except for spending our money - we need a new form of government that has it's interests at heart, and that is ruthless and the world knows it!
Rule from weakness and you get what you deserve!
