I think that you’re quite right.
Though imho, Russia and the USA are ‘merely’ two . . . complex chess pieces of the globalists . . . and have been for decades . . .
Since posting the above, I’ve read some prophetic docs which convince me that I am likely wrong about the import of this attack by Russia.
The assertions in the docs are that this will evolve into Ezekiel 38 at some point . . . that Russia is more or less preparing the route for that attack on Israel . . . and that the implications of this attack on Georgia are significantly greater than I’d thought.
We shall see. I have long felt that China was one of the submitted kings under the AntiChrist which Revelation etc depict as in an uneasy alliance with him etc. Russia may well be another. I think there are 3, IIRC.
