RE: Michael Moore convincing himself Americans love the Democratic Party.

For years now, nearly every poll has shown that the American people are right in sync with the platform of the Democratic Party. They are pro-environment, pro-women's rights, pro-choice, they don't like war, they want the minimum wage raised, and they want a single-payer universal healthcare system. The American public agrees with the Republican Party on only one major issue: they support the death penalty.
Rob Reiner, Archie Bunker's meatheaded son-in-law from way back when,
predicts a great deal of interaction between the Obama and Hollywood, like the days of the Clinton presidency.
"You’d have the same thing, absolutely. There’d be the same kind of love and respect, but I think you’d have it even bigger. With someone like Obama, I think the whole country, the whole world will coalesce. Every election is about change, and change takes a long time because there are big issues that can’t be changed overnight. But the one thing that will change dramatically is how we’re viewed around the world. Once Obama is in there, the world will view us in an entirely different light. And that, to me, is a good thing."
So, to Moore, Americans are basically Northeastern, academic liberals but don't know it (or vote it) and to Reiner, beauty-queen Obama equals Clinton/Hollywood "love and respect", and world peace?
We can all sit around the campfire, toast marshmallows, hold hands and sing "kumbaya." Its childish!
