Pictures speak a thousand words. Georgia is being decimated. Already far more have died in Russian attacks Georgia than died on 9-11. Isn't about time we did something to stop this attack on our friend and ally?

Isn't about time we did something to stop this attack on our friend and ally? We are not going head to head with Russia. Put it out of your mind. Georgia will lose this one.

Georgia needs to use IEDs and other asymmetrical warfare against the Russian brutes.

What do you suggest? - pretend it isnt happening? General Patton pointed out many decades ago that we will eventually have to fight them. What choice are they gonna give us ?
To: F15Eagle
Of course we shouldn’t pretend it isn’t happening.
But look at the stupid things we did in the Balkans!
Can you blame the Russians for believing we can’t stop them, and that they have the right to go in there and muck around? And where are the Europeans, huh? This is an oil pipeline that benefits them directly. They should be at the forefront too. I suppose the Euroweenies are hiding under their beds.
With the Iraq liberation drawing to its close, I guess we can move north and kick some Russian ass!

Not without others by our side.
We are no longer the world's sole policeman.
We are broke, we cannot afford it as a nation anymore.
Lets win in Iraq and Afghanistan first. Force others to pay their share, too, if we go in there. And we never go into any nation now to fight, at least in my mind, without a solid Congressional Declaration of War.
Do you suggest we declare war on Moscow?

I hate the idea of the Cold War going back to Near Hot. Unfortunately, the Russians/Persians have the initiative. In the present scenario we will end up going where they take us and right now it looks like war over the oil fields in the Middle East and the Caucasus. We just lost the Caucasus to the Russians.

Honestly, Ive believed for a long time that Russia is the land of Magog and that the war of Ezekiel 38 is coming. Its directed at Israel and Persia and Libya (BION) as Put or Phut are both mentioned. Not a Bible Scholar myself. But if one just looks at just the conventional aspects of everything, things have looked much worse in the past. The Fall of Rome, the rise of Islam, the invasion of the Mongols, World War I and World War II. The major difference this time is the non-conventional aspects. Nuclear Weapons. Imagine nuclear weapons in the hands of the enemies of our past. That is the new threat we face now. Looks like the genie is out of the bottle.

Make critical supplies available and sell arms to Georgia? In a heartbeat. Send men to bleed? FOR THE EU?!? I'm sorry, after Iraq we should be deploying our dearest to their homes and families or the nearest bar first.
The socialists in the EU had an opportunity to get some experience in Iraq, let's see who made some use of it.
