“The idea was to get the Bluest of Blue Ribbon panel members, and to get them to sign off on the party line.”

Did you ever stop to consider that the reason there was a “party line,” and ther reason the Commission followed it, is that EVERY SINGLE piece of credible evidence available pointed to Oswald? In my opinion, since the Commission made up its mind fairly early (as any reasonable investigator would), the fact that it tracked down as many leads as it could connecting Oswald to a conspiracy (so many leads, in fact, that it has provided buffs with something to write about for 45 years) is a paean to their integrity.

There is a reason that people you know are most likely to be convicted for your murder: cops go after the most obvious suspect.

What you say may be true, or may not be true, as I said it’s irrelevant to the point I was making. If you read the actual transcripts of LBJ putting together the Warren Commission, this was not the motivation and the mindset of LBJ. His concern was politics, public opinion, geopolitcs and a handful of other considerations. The Truth (with a capital “T”) was the farthest thing from his mind. That’s just a fact. Which, as I said previously, does not speak directly to the truth or falsity of the findings, it’s just an interesting observation.
