While we’re on the topic of reclaiming doublespeak from the Statists, how bout the whole capital-L “Liberal”? Meaning, in practice, “one who opposes virtually every form of actual individual liberty”.
I cringe every time I hear someone use the term “Liberal”, because it’s used to describe the leftists who want gov’t control of every facet of people’s lives.
That makes them the opposite of what I and many Freepers are...whether you describe yourself as “libertarian”, “fiscally conservative, socially liberal”, or just in terms of our Founders’ philosophy, a “classical liberal”, you shouldn’t be applying the capital-L word to those fighting tooth and nail for command-and-control.
Living in Europe in 1980, and having to listen to the European’s complaints about Reagan, it was really great to see that sea of blue sweep over the US. It was one of the great days of my life.
There is no doubt in my mind that the networks finally settled on Red for the GOP to take away the pink stain on the Rats..and now the outright nomination of a marxist.
