Rielle Hunter, the former presidential campaign aide who had an affair with John Edwards, said yesterday that she will not pursue DNA testing to establish the paternity of her 5-month-old daughter, despite the former senator's offer to participate in such a test.
In a statement provided to The Washington Post, Hunter said through her attorney that she would not take a genetic test "now or in the future."
The attorney, Robert Gordon, called Hunter a "private" person who is "not running for public office" and would not comment further on the media frenzy engulfing her.

We need the SNL church lady (dana Carvey)..”Isn’t that special??!!”
The games go on.
$$$$$$
Is everybody as surprised as I am?
*yawn*
There is no doubt that John Edwards is willing to pay whatever it takes to not have a “love child”.
Which is stupid, because his political career is in flames, anyhow.
He’s been exposed as a liar, and a cowardly little freak trying to hide in a hotel bathroom basement.
He never did have any political talent, and he’s proven it again in spades.
Wait until the “love child” is old enough to demand her own paternity test to get part of the Edwards estate.
“How convenient”
Not for the child.
Edwards knew this yesterday.
Lord how many possibles does the woman think there are for fatherhood????
$15,000 a month in illegal “salary” a month from Edwards.
The slut is worth every penny! Edwards is definitely getting his money’s worth.
This was quiet the dysfunctional group of people Mr. Edwards was able to cobble together for common cause.
It’s his daughter. That was the other shoe that we needed to see drop. Wonder whether she got an increase in whore money, for agreeing not to do the DNA testing, or a decrease, because he had to admit to the affair?
How perfect! The Daddy says "I'll agree to tests."
The Mommy says "No test."
The MSM says "The Daddy said he'd agree but Mommy says no. What's a poor MSM-er to do?"
Oh and btw "We (heart) Elizabeth."
Never forget: Trial lawyers love the D's. The D's love Trial Lawyers.
I agree. It looks like coordination.
Must be that nice house and the $15K a month along with the promise that someday she’ll be the Mrs. #2?
I want to see Edwards on Maury Povich when they do paternity tests.
In all seriousness though, why was there no father on the birth certificate, and why is she saying she won’t pursue the matter? Even if she is a ****, she still has some idea who the father is. Assuming that she doesn’t really know. I have a feeling she knows exactly who daddy is.
A payoff is a possibility. If that payoff was a lump sum,has already been executed and is a very substantial sum (in the millions) then that would certainly be a motive for her to bow out.But if the settlement took any other shape (e.g.,it contained a promise of *future* payments)then she'd be smarter to pursue this in court.
Unless she *knows* that he ain't the daddy.
I’m 100% positive your statement is accurate.
