But I thought he was doing much better and responding favorably to treatment as of last night...

Man I hate this. I didn’t always watch his show, but his comedy always had an undercurrent of moral values that I haven’t seen elsewhere.

I was going to post something similar...but I glad I read down the whole thread before posting. Remember Jim Henson (of Muppets fame) he also died of pneumonia at a young age. Seek medical care early folks...don't try tough it out, or just think you have the flu or a chest cold.

Bernie Mac was very funny (w/a few rough edges)...he will be missed. I would guess, he kept 'going' ignoring what he was feeling (had commitments, etc) and the pneumonia got out ahead of the treatment. So sad.

This is so unexpected. Always liked him and his show. I just watched an episode last night after a 2 year break from cable TV. The last thing I watched was him in some hilarious life situation, staring with his “Hey America”...and now he’s gone.

Thanks for the laughs, Bernie.

Sad. His show was good.

I wasn't in the target audience, but he kind of grew on you.

Fifty is way too young to go.
