Nicely done. Most likely it is not the first and won’t be the last, regardless if Liz lives or Lisa stays in his life. You can blame slutty women, but he is the one with the choice to make. Years ago he chose Liz and took vows but what does that mean if he doesn’t take them to heart.

This is a nest of lies. Maybe he just told her last week and they’re both pretending.

If Kerry had not tried to win with this “big lie” their would never been the Swift Boat expose of him

Edwards then tries to do the exact same thing using his wife, family and his dedication to them as a pivotal part of his image which we now see as another “big lie”.

Obama will be done in by his “big lie” strategy also

They believe you can portray yourself in a manner 180 degrees from reality and the American people will be stupid to see through the mask.

The last person to get away with this strategy was Billy Clinton. That was pre-internet. It is much more difficult now.

In order for a person to win while using this strategy, the opposing person must be someone to vote against. Obama could get away with it this time because McCain keeps jabbing the conservatives.

Note however that I said Obama could win because of the anti-McCain vote, but that is despite the 180 degrees out from reality campaign that normally would not succeed.

Being detached and viewing this from the outside...here are my two cents...

All three of these adults are getting what they wanted (fame, press?); and reaping what they have sowed (being shown as liars; users and misogynists...in other words good Democratic pols and operatives).

Does anyone think this is the first time John Edwards strayed? Behavior like picking a woman up in a bar setting and then giving her a 100k job assignment is not a 'first timers' move. Johnny must have trolled before...but...this time he...

Picked up a crazy former rich girl, morphed into middle age, cougar (Rielle?) looking for financial security. Lisa had apparently partied heartily in her youth; married and divorced; yet managed to get preggers in her forties? Ok...can we say meal ticket? She stayed childless during her wild times but decides to finally procreate w/a wealthy, well known man whose wife is dying. Poor little Francis Quinn...she will have issues on top of issues...

And now onto Mrs. Edwards. Wow. How bad did she want to be in the White House? She had to look the other way, and then the other way (again and again and yet again) to keep up pretenses (and that march to PA Avenue.) She used her illness to make her husband 'look' sympathetic...and I am guessing with all of her press friends keeping the story(ies) of Johnny's infidelities buried (for Liz of course)...wow.

Lastly, comes the treatment the press is giving all of this. Honest John, St. Elizabeth, and slutty Rielle. Like Billary and the Bimbo Eruptions the woman takes the heat. Granted she deserves it...but she is not the only one in this mess. And...I kinda hope that Hillary's fingerprints are on this someplace (John Edwards as VP...I don't think so...not if Hill doesn't want him to have it). Remember, just a couple of weeks ago, Johnny and Barry were tightasthis and then...well...maybe this is a warning salvo from the Clintonistas?

The news media couldn’t spend two seconds on this story, and now we suddenly have a complete report on every suspicious aspect of Rielle Hunter’s life.

“I smell a rat, Walter”. Edward G. Robinson, “Double Indemnity”.

"Edwards would gossip about other candidates. "It was amazing what he confided to her. Very inappropriate stuff and not provable," the source said."

Hmmm...

I think this is more of a Clinton pay back than anything else. Look at the timing of this...just a couple of weeks ago Johnny and Barry were being buds in LA, w/some internet chatter of the Silky One being the Chosen One’s VP...then...all of this comes out COURTESY OF THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER. The NE...the Clinton friendly NE. Maybe this was a warning...’look how easy we got the dirt out on Edwards.’

Reille Hunter, her father-in-law was attorney Alex Hunter of Boulder, Colorado during the Jon Benet Ramsey case.

If Elizabeth knew and continued to support his candidacy, fully aware that the lid could be blown off any second, then she is just like Spitzer's wife, who encouraged Spitzer to not resign in the face of the prostitution scandal.

I felt sorry for Elizabeth. However, she may be the real political animal in that marriage.

I’m thrilled she did not abort her baby for whatever reason, even if she made that decision so she could force Edwards to support her and the child.

Most women over 40 have had babies and thus the extra poundage.

The Governor of Alaska has had four and she is still smoking hot. I know a number of 50ish women who have had kids and still have a great figure.

Ugh. Old Serpenthead. I stopped listening to most political observers when Mary Matalin married this scum. It just showed how absolutely phony politics are. It’s all about power and the parties don’t even matter.

To me, E.D. Hill and Gretchen Carlson (FOX news) are dream women, but I’ve seen them reviled here. I don’t know about FReepers sometimes.
