Tell me about it...and all this pandering by phony conservatives over McCain is sickening.

When it comes to securing the border....both Obama and McCain are on the side of Mexico. They are both pro-illegal/anti-American.

Pro-Amnesty politicans are the biggest threat to our national security. If you lack the backbone and resolve to deal with (mostly) peaceful illegal aliens....how are you to be trusted fighting terrorism?

Yep. Just because McCain got backstabbed by La Raza (anyone surprised - no?) at the La Raza Annual Convention I do not see McCain fessing up that he was just plain wrong on the amnesty legislation attempts. Nor do I believe that he will give up on pushing it just because we have not heard much about it one way or another for a while.

When the two clowns attack each other it’s like they’re accusing their opponent of being more like themselves than they are.

They are both pro-illegal/anti-American.

They are both heavily pandering for the Latino votes! If either were to take the tougher enforcement line, 98% of the Latino vote would be lost immediately. They are both betting their stance is not deal breaker with the base of their parties. They have NO choice.

Of course, the really bad part is that they both actually BELIEVE these 12 to 24+ million illegals should be granted AMENSTY!

here’s why mccain is what he is:

actually, conservatism has had only fleeting moments in the republican party.

the republicans of the 1890’s spent money like water.

teddy roosevelt was a progressive, as was herb hoover.

the depression and ww2 saw the development of globalist thinking in the republican party.

meanwhile, the anti-international taft family controlled the party. pat buchanan’s ideas come closest to the tafts.

post-ww2 saw the pubie party pretty much as we’ve known it—rockefeller.

goldwater was NOT wanted in 1964.

reagan is the only conservative in the republican party of my life.

bob dope spent your social security surpluses with glee.

the bush family, prescott, 41 and 43 are northeast rockefeller republicans, with the exception of 43’s evangelicalism.

neo-conservativism is another discussion.

in sum, johnny mccain is nothing new. he’s a rockefeller republican.

The pandering by conservatives is because they’ve reduced their hopes to continuing and winning the WOT and “hoping” to get judges to the USSC that are just a bit to the right of Ginsburg.

In other words, the lesser of two liberal evils and they’re hoping for some table scraps.

That a myth that the pro-illegal stance is merely pandering to Hispanics

If McCain does this to woo Hispanics....he has lost the election. The Hispanic vote is still small compared to the overall American vote, and, every poll so far shows McCain still trailing Obama w voting Hispanics

Had McCain been strong on illegal alienism....he would be running away with the election.

Had someone like Duncan Hunter been the nominee...this election would have been over months ago. But, liberal RINOs and liberal RINO talk show hosts kept ignoring Hunter...saying “he cant win”

A stock response of McCain `neo-cons’ and their ilk, when this issue is raised, is to say, “Obama is a lot worse.”
Now, this would be tragic in itself—to support your choice by agreeing (tacitly) that he’s bad but that he is not as bad as the opponent.
However as a categorical statement, in my opinion, it is false. On this issue, one is as bad as the other.

Look at all the MSM stories this week about ‘minorities becoming the majorities’ within a few decades. No wonder McCain and Obama are pandering to Hispanics...

I can tell you with certainty that Tom Coburn wasn't "wanted" here in Oklahoma....by the Old Elephant guard.

And I think he still ticks off more Pubbies than Dims......

The only reason he supports McCain is "ear-marks" and the WOT. At least that is what his office tells me.....

FWIW-

The reality of ‘looking the other way’ for two plus decades while illegals streamed in and were ‘assimiltaed’ into the business world as cheap labor is now catching up to us. So many of the earlier illegals have become —through hard work, ingenuity, and draining the ‘public assistance’ trough— a wealthier class with much more education than the relatives they left behind south of the border that if we deport them now, this anchored guild, we would cause the nation of Mexico to crumble in anarchical civil war.

Such an outcome would be acceptable were it not for the exploitation the terrorist class would make of it. And the drug cartels would end up owning an oil producing nation, no longer an undercurrent exploiting the decadence of the West.

Thanks to obstructionism by the democrats like Ted ‘the puke swimmer’ Kennedy, Reagan amnesty which was supposed to also close the border to illegal immigration has led to this state where we cannot afford to do anything like deportation.

BUT we damn sure better close the border to the millions of illegals BEFORE granting a type of amnesty which will require returning to south of the border origins before coming back else the stream will only increase when wholesale deportations begin.

The reason they did that was because: HE CAN'T WIN! The "independant" vote will determine the results of this election and Hunter CANNOT win the independents. Get over it!

"On this issue, one is as bad as the other."

Not really. McCain has come around to the point that he realizes that the first step leading to his amnesty MUST be securing the borders. Obama has no such intent.

They both want the illegals currently here to be allowed "a path to citizenship", but at least McCain says he will stop the influx.
