The Chinese should appreciate Americans. After all, if we weren’t buying so much of their junk, their economy would be a mess.

It would be great if I could go into stores looking for small appliances, lamps, tools, toys, electronics ... all kinds of products.... and actually have a choice - something not made in China.

There’s always ebay, and http://www.madeinusa.org has other sources you can turn to.

When I need something and everything I see in the local stores is made overseas, I search ebay. They always have something better and often more interesting too. Like if you want an automatic pencil, you can get a bag of Chinese pencils, or you can go on ebay, find an antique silver one made in America, with a 50-year track record of performance, a mysterious inscription, and a stanhope peephole you can look into and see a magnified photo of the National Cathedral. :)
