Would those be the same Nazis with whom the Russians had a nonagression pact

They were the same Nazis the Communists made a pact with.

Most people understand that it was the Russians who put up an iron curtain....

Not true. The east German communist installed gov., at the direction of Russian communists put up the wall. Neither the west, east Germans, or the Russians people wanted a wall.

airdropping supplies into Georgia with plausible deniability could be as straighforward as military operations get..

What interest would we have in doing that? You sure like to meddle, where does it stop? We move into Georgia, Russia moves into Cuba etc, same old, same old. Been there done that.

It may have been justified during the cold war against an expansion Communist Russia. But Russia is now a Democracy with IMO, different goals. Number one, protecting their territory. Like a cornered animal, Russia will resist, and we play a dangerous game, with no real benefit for us.

It's not Russians that are the problem, it's communists and fascists..

Exactly. And our dealing since the fall of Communism, IMO ( and apparently, Pat Buchanans) has aggravated the Russians to respond in ways that are harmful to us.

Putin and company are a blend of both.

That facts are other wise. Elected Putin has a 75% approval in Russia, passed the flat tax, promotes family and Christianity. They were moving in a positive diction, why screw it up.

I’m just going to respond to this question:

“You sure like to meddle, where does it stop?”

Here’s the answer: never.

N-E-V-E-R.

NEVER!

My forebears (I am ethnically Greek / Spartan) have been fighting for the independence and freedom of themselves and others, and to defend Western Civilization, since there was a Western Civilization to defend. My culture (I am culturally American) was founded on those same ideals of independence and freedom.

Maybe you’ve heard one of the great speeches of my Spartan forebears, that is now a part of the American culture. The speech, in it’s entirety, is this: “Molon Lave.” It means much more than “come and get them.” It means that freedom and Western Civilization will be defended, though many defenders die in the process.

In this case, Georgia has been a stronger defender of Western Culture, freedom, and all the rest, than Russia has. Therefore, I will always advocate for whatever “meddling” or other actions it takes to keep Georgia free and to damage the current thuggish Russian government.

Americans, like me, will ALWAYS fight for freedom, though the vigor with which we might do it varies from time to time. Might as well get used to that.

Hitler had a very high approval rating from the German people too...for a while. Doesn't mean squat, in either case.
