GORI, Georgia — The conflict between Russia and the former Soviet republic of Georgia moved toward a wider war Saturday, as Russia sent warships to land ground troops in the disputed territory of Abkhazia and broadened its bombing campaign across Georgia.

Utiashvili said in the past few hours Russia had brought 6,000 troops into Georgia and a further 4,000 troops by sea and Russian forces were preparing to attack at dawn.

RT also reported that Russians are bringing peace keepers to protect the people of Abkhazia

Im not sure what happened to the BBC link. RT is also claiming that a Georgian ship was sunk.
