Two more countries (Iran, Syria) and one political party (Hamas) we are not at war with. Thanks for making my point Bro-him!

You are living in fairy land.

Iran not at war with us? You are starting to look a little bit goofy now.

How’d that go (with Saddam)?

We removed him in a war. Do you infer that we should do the same with other Russian proxies? LOL. Again my point is proven.

It's getting tiresome Natchez Hawk. Seriously I can't understand your position. No insult intended. Your position is simply a million miles away from mine... and I think the facts speak for me. Read the links I posted. Pardon my failure to understand your stance. Peace.

Besides, the United States is bankrupt and can’t afford to get involved in any more wars. We need to return to a philosophy of using the military only for the direct defense of our national interests.

Oh come on. You have been hanging around lefties too long. Russia is coming to the aid of a few Russians in Georgia to give the appearance of strength.

They could no longer control Georgia or the rest of the area than they could win in Afganistan with their STILL rag tag underpaid low trained underperforming army of illiterates.

People like you said the same thing in 1985 and they were wrong then just as you are wrong now. Some people never face up to the fact they have been and always will be WRONG WRONG WRONG.

I can not believe some of the responses I am reading on this thread. Run away, none of our business, let EU deal with it,we might piss russia off , we can’t afford another war etc, etc. Hell, some of the posters here think we should just pull the covers over our head and hope the monsters go away!Unbelievable, sounds like the dummies at DU.

As of today, as I understand it, they are on their way home.

Surprise surprise, many of them ARE dummies at DU that are posting here.

You know, I hate to say it, but, if a confrontation had to happen, now would and should be the time. For some reason I think it is inevitable that if we do not stand up, we will be knocked out of our chair eventualy. Bullies don’t back off by playing nice.

Let’s just send a few B-2s and A-10s to wipe out those columns of tanks.

Which would mean declaring war on another nuclear power. That is a very, very bad idea.

I can’t believe some of you guys actually think we would consider engaging Russian troops over this.

If Thermo-nuclear holocaust is your thing, well ok I guess.

True. I’d rather have us take out China first.

I really don't think the Russians want to go toe to toe with us on that front. They know their nuclear arsenal is way inferior to ours, they do not want to be annihilated.

This sounds like it should be a big deal, but I really know practically nothing about the political situation in Georgia. What I do know is that the US stock market seems to be completely ignoring this, as it soars on news of lower oil prices and a higher dollar. Since Russia and Georgia are not eurocurrency countries, I don’t think the phenomenon can be explained by currency moves. The traders of the world seem to think this is a tempest in a teapot. Are they wrong?
