The FBI has launched a review of the violent law enforcement raid of the home of Berwyn Heights Mayor Cheye Calvo in Prince George's County last week that resulted in the deaths of the family's two dogs.
The agency has begun "reviewing the events that occurred at Mr. Calvo's residence," said Richard J. Wolf, spokesman for the FBI in Baltimore, which has jurisdiction over federal civil rights investigations in Maryland.

Courts across the country in recent years have ruled that it is almost always unacceptable for police to kill pets in the course of searching a home. Cases in three federal circuits have found that killing pets amounts to unreasonable seizure.

"Badges?... We don't need no... stinkin' badges!"
When strangers with guns invade the home, a well-trained dog will try to defend his master’s family.
Shame on LEOs who kill these faithful dogs. They should be made to pay restitution by way of a hefty fine and jailed for the pain they have caused the family.
Clearly they are hardened drug dealers.
It is a sad state of affairs when private citizens have to live in a walled, gated compound to protect themselves from criminal police squads.
See also KATHERINE JOHNSON, the 90 year old grandmother murdered by Atlanta JBTs during a home invasion/no-knock assualt on her home. (Cops planted a bag of weed and lied to get a warrant, close to these Md dog murders).
The noble masses of law enforcers are themselves victims of the drug war. These paramilitary anti-drug units seem to be worst for sullying the image of law enforces to the public. They should only be used to protect life not to enforce drug laws.
How can you justify shooting a lab that is running away from you? The police have refused to appologize.
That's a gross double standard, eh?
Let’s be honest with ourselves here.
The PG County Sheriff is black.
The FBI has conducted one operation after another against law-abiding citizens with ruthless tenacity and disregard for rules of evidence.
The FBI has specialized in covering up their own spectacular failures. The FBI has become a very adept at playing the political game in DC, and making sure that they’re “sensitive” to “minority feelings.”
Does anyone who doesn’t believe in the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny *and* Santa Claus honestly believe that the FBI is going to do anything other than help the PG County Clowns cover their plush, donut-fed posteriors?
I-TEAM: SWAT Team Honored For Raid On Wrong House (MN)
Amazing! Something has really gone wrong with these people.
I used to believe that too.
But over time I have concluded that unless these masses are actively engaged in preventing this, reporting it, and providing testimony against the perpetrators, then they are part of the problem too. And, in my personal view, equally guilty.
According to one of the report I read, one of the dogs was shot while running away.
What B.S. Remember at Waco, killing all the dogs kept in kennels at the back of the structure was one of the first things our heros did, after shooting up the place from a helicopter with "non fixed weapons".
PG County is a giant cesspool and it never will be drained.
Not surprising, considering how they've always played the PR game very well.
How many people know that when the G-men took out Dillinger, the case that made the FBI famous, said G-men shot a couple of innocent by-standers?
Quite obviously bad drug smugglers, and those vicious Labs, Good thing no cops had a toy ball or frisbee or they’d really have been in trouble.
I, too, hope the Mayor ends up owning the sheriffs department and the deputies.
They served a standard warrant in a No-Knock fashion, which in and of itself should have nullified the warrant. The Deputies KNEW FULL WELL what type of warrant they had.
Shooting of a family pet after it was running away! Only reason is to put fear into and intimidate the family inside.
Refusal to give a copy of the warrant to the Mayor when requested smells, period. It was delivered HOURS later, and not by the officers who served the alleged warrant.
Looks like the Sherrif has taken lessons from the County police recently. Liars, ALL OF THEM! Oh, and before the pro law enforcement lobby jumps down on me with their jack-boots, it is because of the Code of silence and the Blue Line that covers up this type of activity. If it had been just an Ordinary Citizen, we would have never heard of it.
And, remember, it could happen to YOU!
Glad I no longer live in Pee Gee County. Sadly, I sill have to work there.
I know Fairfax County has a PD...
Some police forces are way too quick to use their paramilitary SWAT teams and no knock warrants. The cops and the person who planned this “search” need to be fired and, if appropriate, charged. There is no excuse for this sort of raid where, in broad day light, thugs with badges raid the house of a suspect with no history of violence with guns blazing. This isn’t Hollywood. I don’t want cops knocking down doors, tying up old ladies, and shooting up houses based on very circumstantial evidence.
