Rasmussen: Wisconsin Getting Closer, Obama By Four
Rasmussen ^

Posted on 08/07/2008 2:21:55 PM PDT by maccaca

Barack Obama's 11-point lead in Wisconsin is now down to four. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state shows Obama leading John McCain 47% to 43%. When “leaners” are included in the totals, Obama leads 51% to 44%.

Last month, in the first Wisconsin poll conducted since Hillary Clinton dropped out of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, Obama was ahead of his Republican opponent 50% to 39%. Obama is supported by 86% of Wisconsin Democrats, McCain by 95% of Republicans. Voters not affiliated with either major party are evenly divided.

The Democrat leads by a 2-to-1 margin among voters under 30 while McCain has a seven percentage point advantage among voters over 65.

McCain leads among those earning $40,000 to $75,000 a year. His opponent is ahead among those who earn above that level and below it.

McCain is viewed favorably by 56% of Wisconsin voters, roughly the same number as last month. But Obama is now given favorable marks by 53%, down from 61% in July.

Seems like a lot more Obama states are turning into battleground states.

Apparently, historical data shows that Obama 4% less of the vote than he polls.

Don’t know why.

Maybe there are people who won’t admit they are not going to vote for him for fear of being labeled a racistso they tick th Obama box in the polls but vote against him when it’s secret.

The Democrat leads by a 2-to-1 margin among voters under 30

So, that confirms it.

Obama leads with the young, dumb, and idealistic.

If people under 25 were not allowed to vote until they've developed enough knowledge and wisdom about politics and government, the democrats would never again win elections. People should not be allowed to vote until they've held a job for at least 7 years and pay taxes or not until they've reached the age of 30, or both.

I wonder what the age levels are at liberal blogs like the HuggingtonPost, DailyKos, DU and others. I'd bet that the great majority of their bloggers are the dumb, young, idealist, ignorant, clueless, and plain stupid.

True, but in this case, McCain gets further away when “leaners” are included, because WI is and will always be a “teaser” state. McCain should learn his lesson from Bush and not put money into this state.

No he will be chairman of the DNC.

If Obama loses (and he will), the Clintonites will own the party. Obama and his supporters will be persona non grata.

Yeah, my real guess is that he will lose his reelection for the Senate.

I wouldn’t completely give up on Wisconsin. There might be enough people up their who cling to their bibles and guns who we can scare into voting for McCain to turn the election. If nothing else we can always manipulate the vote by hacking into our Diebold machines.
