“they’re gonna have to pay big time”

That’s laughable. Cops never, ever pay big time for their screw ups. Never.

That’s probably so. As D.C. “gentrifies” the neighboring county gets the shift of dysfunction. I left there many years ago, but still go back to visit family. Sadly, much of my family lives in P.G. county and have to endure there somehow. I went to high school in downtown D.C. over 40 years ago and it was bad but not nearly so bad as it later became.

I would get a forencics expert in that house to see how the dogs died. were they close to the cops, facing them or running away. This must be SOP to shoot animals. I would get ahold of the policy and procedure manual for these cops. This has to come out in the open. They are just shooting too many animals.

So, they'll have to buy a couple of dogs. They appear to have had a valid warrant.

I'd get matched puppies ~ so cute, go right to the Mayor's heart.

Cops who shot the dogs should do time. And the stupid failed war on pot should be immediately stopped.

“So, they’ll have to buy a couple of dogs.”

In my twisted mind it would be fair to find out if the Sheriff has any dogs and require that two of them be put down as part of any settlement.

It’s not the dogs’ fault. Put the Sherriff down, or make him clean kennels in the pound for the rest of his life

“So, they’ll have to buy a couple of dogs.”

And that will be that. “Here’s 50 bucks, go to the pound and get a couple new dogs”

Meanwhile the thugs that did the shooting are giving each other high fives over another piece of stellar police work.

hey all! just an update on our spirited discourse last week.

turns out one of the possibilities we talked about, that the mayor and his wife were pawns in this drug shippment, seems to have played out.

i do not wish to get into it again because we pretty much beat it to death, but just following up. have a good one!

Where is the defender in blue that justified most of this? Many postulated that the sending was a way of smuggling to unsuspecting people. This case is a prime candidate for the fact that it appears many promoting the militarization of the police forces are creating forces that no longer live by the mantra to “protect and serve”.

The county Sheriff's Office SWAT team and narcotics officers raided the home of Mayor Cheye Calvo and his wife, Trinity Tomsic, after intercepting a package addressed to her that was filled with 32 pounds of marijuana.

They deserved what they got, or worse, for having funny names.

I'm guessing your interest is in the "privacy of MJ delivery" and not the possibility that somebody could get killed over this.

You can't possibly be that stupid. Can you?

Did you read what the other poster said? I suppose you agree with the thought that the sanctity of MJ parcel delivery exceeds the importance of violence.

It's hardly stupid to ask that because we've had your type around here before.

They appear to have had a valid warrant.

You haven't been following this story then.

…they didn't even have a no-knock search warrant…

"They had plain vanilla warrants to enter the house and seize the package"

And, you'll notice they'd already "knocked" but the mother in law, presumably a resident there, refused to sign for the parcel. It's almost "hot pursuit".

You're in a gray area with your comments. Door's open; talking to resident; police not invisible; package on the porch; etc.

The PG Sheriff's office (not the PG cops) will buy a couple of new dogs.

As I said, we've had your type around here before ~ eagle eye focused squarely on the box of MJ!

Bet you wonder where the evidence is eh?

Did you see where the package was taken into the home anyway? That's despite the fact the mother in law didn't sign for it.

Wonder what was going through her mind ~

Jackson said yesterday that his team was justified in entering the home as forcefully as it did because Calvo's mother-in-law screamed when she saw the officers approaching the house. The noise, he said, could have alerted any armed occupants of the home or allowed time for destruction of any evidence.

Brilliant witch-hunter mentality: The no-knock raid was justified because the woman screamed when they burst through the door.

The only way the raid would not have been justified is if she hadn't screamed.

Only drug-dealing women scream when armed men burst through doors, dontcha know?

He also defended the shooting of the dogs. He said his deputies were "engaged" by the dogs, by one as they entered the house and by the other as they made their way through it. Neither dog bit a deputy, he said.

I wonder what 'engaged' means? Does this mean the dogs were trying to lick the cops to death?
