McCain will beat Obama in Mass, I’ll beat Kerry, Beatty says

Responding to a recent poll showing presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama's lead over presumptive GOP nominee John McCain in Massachusetts narrowing, Jeff Beatty, the Republican challenging U.S. Sen. John Kerry, predicted victory in both his race and for McCain in Massachusetts.

A 7News/Suffolk University poll released Monday showed Obama (Ill.) with a nine-point lead over McCain (Ariz.) - 47 percent to 38 percent. The last 7News/Suffolk University poll, released a month and a half ago, showed Obama leading McCain by 23 points, 53 percent to 30 percent.

"People see him for what he is," Beatty told PolitickerMA.com referring to Obama. "Obama is shallow. He's an empty suit. He doesn't have the relevant experience to work the country out of its problems and John McCain does. I've been advocating an action policy to solve these problems and that's resonating with voters. That's why I'll say McCain is going to carry Massachusetts and I'm going to beat John Kerry."

The Beatty camp contends that McCain is gaining ground in Massachusetts because Bay State voters are not comfortable voting for Obama. Obama's recent shifts in position on energy policy, they say, have raised doubts about where Obama stands. At the same time, they say, McCain's brand remains strong among unenrolled voters in Massachusetts.

Beatty said Massachusetts voters may be reluctant to support a candidate about whom they know little after Gov. Deval Patrick's (D-Milton) missteps after he first took office.

"It's a function of knowing your voters," Beatty said, "being out there and listening to them. They've seen this movie before; it was John Kerry and Deval Patrick the first time it came out. They don't' want to see the John Kerry and Barack Obama version of the movie."

This isn't the first time Beatty has predicted McCain would win Massachusetts. In an interview with PolitickerMA.com on July 22, Beatty said if McCain picked former Gov. Mitt Romney (R) to be his vice presidential candidate, he would carry Massachusetts.

Knowing that John Kerry derives his self-worth from his public office (shallow man that he is), I don’t expect him to lie down and take it.

Wonder what dirty trick Kerry will attempt...

People in MA are living with the effects of “Together We Can” Deval Patrick... one of the dumbest men on the planet.

People in “blue” states like Massachusetts and Illinois are not as liberal as their politicians. It’s more a matter of hopeless resignation on the part of the electorate that keeps the left in power in these places.

If the left governed only those places where their “true believers” are the majority, their influence would be confined to a few city councils in places like Berkeley and Cambridge.

Well......perhaps he can remind them that he served in Vietnam.

Then there is his skill at wind surfing.

Or, perhaps re-introduce his lovely and gracious wife.

Looking at this list, I think Kerry just may be unbeatable!!

(SARC) Should you need to ask. :o)

Wow. I’ll believe it (and welcome it) when I see it, but until then, color me skeptical.

I’d love to see it myself - but I’m mindful that Mass. was the one state that was won by McGovern in 1972. Although I imagine that Kerry’s idiocy when running for President and subsequent moron momments may have the voters relishing the possibility of booting his entitled @$$ out of office.

You heard wrong. What is reported is the Liberian Carla Howe has gotten the elimination of income taxes on the November ballot. The voters will vote in favor of it. The crooks in the Legislature will ignore it. Remember, we have a representative government, not a democracy.

No offense intended, but I fear that that is just your imagination. Mass. is the land of perpetual Kennedys after all - Teddy has been elected for 117 straight terms, and Barney the Frank is considered a hero.

They just voted to let other people come in and get married, regardless of gender, or (I think) species.

I hope you're right, but I'm not betting on it.

“People in “blue” states like Massachusetts and Illinois are not as liberal as their politicians.”

We are about 60/40 D/R here in MA. Our legsislature is almost 90% D.

60/40 D/R
~~~~~~~~
That’s about par for the whole country. But in most places, about half the republicans turn out to vote, and about 1/3 of the dems turn out...which makes it pert near even money...on average over the long run.
At least this is how it seems to me.
I’m one of a group of islanders who will do what we can for Jeff Beatty. It would be off the charts to see the extra-long face on John Kerry if Mr. Beatty can pull this off!
None taken, Izzy. I lived in Bedford when my dad was stationed at Hanscom Field in the late 60’s. This was when the Kennedy kids got hopped up on drugs, took the jeep for a spin and left a kid paralyzed. I believe two ounces of weed were recovered from the vehicle. They got released ROR and a couple months’ probation. My mother said at the time “and I’ll bet there’s more than one black kid from Roxbury doing a stretch in prison for a lesser drug offense.”
Not to mention when Teddy broke Lord knows how many laws when he “manslaughtered” Mary Jo.
IMO it is not an impossibility that MassHole voters have had it with the Rats...Deval is a crook...John Friggin’ Kerry is insufferable and IIR the folks were not very receptive to the School Busing scheme forcrd on them in the past. Who knows which way MassHole blows?
