You know I never thought about it....mine is 10 years old now because I had it put in when I moved in 10 years ago. I should seriously do that. Why wait for a disaster...thanks for bringing it up.

A tankless water heater costs about $1400. The reason it would cost me $3500 is the plumbing for the gas line and the vent. Your house may be different, estimates are free. Look at it this way. To replace one a water heater is about $500, that would make a tankless about $3000 and that's what should calculate you fuel savings on.
