Hillary waited too long to go negative on Obama and by the time she got traction, the idea had taken hold that Obama had won the “popular vote” and that Hillary was trying to “steal” the election from him. McCain is already at a disadvantage because more people are registered Dems than Repubs, so he (or anti-Obama independent groups) cannot make the same mistake Hillary made. They’ve got to hit him now, hit him hard and keep knocking him down every time he gets up. He has got to spend all his time explaining away controversies from his past instead of campaigning on a pie-in-the-sky future that some people are gullible enough to believe he can deliver.
