i have a 2693 hm samsung monitor.

the old pc filled the full 26”.

i purchased a new pc and about 1.5” on either side are

masked off, reducing the image horizontally to about 23”.

i want to use the full screen.

Ah. I see the probably proximate cause:

display resolution of 1920 x 1200

If you can get your graphics cards to those settings you should be okay. Unfortunately I can't help any further because (as I said) i don't have Vista.

And I know it won't help to say I went through something similar when I received a 1440x900 monitor to use with my Linux machine. But it works now... Good luck and maybe some Vista-savvy FReeper (GE?) can help you.

In 'customization' (control panel) you'll find 'display settings' - you can set the resolution to 1280 x 800 or some other widescreen resolution.
