Scooter Libby demonstrated that to anyone who doubts it. You can be perfectly innocent and end up getting jailed because he slipped up with a word or two or because what you say is disputed by some liar. That’s what happened to Libby, and it has happened to plenty of other people.
Fitzgerald gave immunity to the chief leaker so he could nail Scooter on a technicality based on lies.
I'd never talk to the DEA on ANY matter without a written offer of TOTAL (not transactional) immunity.
I'd want it in writing, and I'd want it signed and notarized.
